But, after reading reviews for those companies, it appeared to me that many of their clients were simply trying to reduce their tax debt. In my case, I had done everything right, and I did not want to be labeled or looked at as someone who was just wanting to have their taxes reduced. I wanted the fines eliminated!!! At first, I tried to explain my situation on my own to the IRS. They denied my request the first time to eliminate my fines, as they said that even though I used a tax service to prepare my taxes, the results were still my responsibility. Finally, I hired this law firm to represent me in an appeal. I have no idea how you explained the situation better than I did, but I just received letters from the Internal Revenue Service stating that my account for those years was settled and paid in full. BEWARE!! BEWARE!! BEWARE!! Save yourself from tragedy!!! The drama in that statement isn't lost on…read moreme, but my money is! This was my first time with any lawyer EVER, and I found out the hard way. Unfortunately they will take your money, make small efforts, very little communication and nickel and dime charge you for every minuscule communication/email/"review" they can take a claim for. There was no strategy to my case, just passive filings and condescending remarks when you try to get clarity or ask for more effort. They are a run-of-the-mill family/divorce firm. In retrospect this is the kind of firm you go to when you just want to settle a quickie divorce and no custody issues are involved. They will do the filings and it all seems legit until they have to do real lawyering work or litigation. I spoke to 3 other attorneys near the end of my representation and frankly they were APPAULLED and shocked on the way I had been under served, uniformed or educated. I didn't even realize I was divorced until 4 months later...my attorney just forwarded me some document from the clerk, which I realized later after asking her, am I still married?... that she pointed to!! Yeah, they will send you an email and charge you for it, but they will not take the time to help you understand you case, options, strategy or set you up for success in helping you understand the legal jargon or of different implications of filings or paths. They DO NOT AT ALL walk with you or help you. In 10 months I meet with my lawyer ONCE (initial visit) and spoke to her on the phone 3 times (by my request) for a collective hour and a half!!! Now I'm out an additional $2,300 over the $4k I put in to start! You are literally on your own!! You are paying for protocol filing and paper trail compliance. I DONT JUST WANT COMPLIANCE, I WANTED AND NEEDED PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT MY CASE...THIS IS MY LIFE!!! So you can choose to take this review and see it as just some salty woman that was at odds with her legal team, but I urge you, especially if you have limited hard earned or borrowed/loaned funds, to really understand what I'm saying. Get advice from lots of highly starred lawyers with LOTS of reviews if you can, because you need a legal firm that will AT BASIC advocate for you. I found out the hard way, and then they, I believe, maliciously billed me in the last 45 days ($1.4k) when I got hip to their lack luster service...and asked questions...where I was advised, when I was totally broke, to seek government assistance...instead of them litigating or working with opposing counsel to get funds I was owed for over 18 months! Then in the last week of my representation the senior counsel over my attorney FINALLY reached out to me for the first time in 10 months!!!...after I had asked to meet with her for two or three weeks. And then she stated that she didnt charge me for our 2 email correspondence as "a courtesy"...like she is doing me a favor!!! SMH...I was expressing a grievance, of course you wouldn't charge me lady!!! Make it make sense! In conclusion, this is a clear buyer beware. They were not overtly nasty nor did they say anything to me derogatory. You will get your basic filings and passive posturing or communication, but as real lawyers go, this firm is simply inept.
