Steel yourself, take at least 2 credit cards and then glide into the best handbag shop in Belfast…read more Without a doubt. Oh, by the way, I mean high end designer handbags with lots of zeros on the price tags. And joy of joys, we now have a shop in little old Belfast which sells, wait for it, Louboutins. Actual Louboutins. Who would have believed it 5 years ago when the cost of a pair of those bad boys would include your air fare to London. And the bags - luxury all the way. Chloe, Mulberry, Celine, Gucci, they're all there. All my little babies waiting for me to take them home. I have been slowly building a collection of 'good' bags and Harper is the only place to go on birthdays and Christmas when I'm lucky enough to be adding to it. Thanks husband. Harper is one of those plush luxe shops that even smells good and your purchases come in fab while bags all tied up with black ribbons. They also sell smaller items like flip flops, beach mules, swimwear and Pjs, but still serous prices as these are top end labels. Ladies, go in and dream. Man, listen to the hints and buy the next birthday present from Harper. That's an order.

For whatever reason they currently reside at The Merchant Hotel in a small boutique. The design and decor of the boutique are stunning and this really helps highlight the products. I'll admit, yes, the prices can be quite an eye opener but they are fair prices that they would charge you everywhere else for Christian Louboutin etc The customer service at Harper is second to none. I went through many sizes and left a pile of patent high heels in my wake, helping at the end to clear my bit although I was told they would take care of it, which I found very nice of the person helping me. There was no snobby attitude towards me, which I was grateful of as I'm not exactly Upper Class myself, maybe if I had gotten a female employee rather than a male employee this might have been different, I don't know, I don't wan't to be too stereotypical. Harper is now my favourite stop for high quality designer items. You're customer service is wonderful, I'll be back for your sale ;)

The reason I say this is it will be packed full of geeky emo's looking for their next quirky crazy purchase. I could not even walk into the shop to do a decent review, so I left and am now spreading what I have learnt toy the good people of Yelp.

I had never been in nor heard of this fabulous little shop until today…read more I took myself out on a stroll in the glamorous Lisburn Road (I don't remember it being that glamorous many years ago when I was crawling home in the early hours with half a kebab all over my beck and several drunken students singing the the best of Take That!) The housing in this area is expensive and this attracts a well to do lot to the area. With well to do ladies comes lovely expensive clothing that they want to sell. And so Deja Vu was born. The shop works by a client leaving in a high end piece of clothing, shoes or accessories and then the shop sells it for them for 50% of the price. There are loads of beautiful tops, dresses and skirts from really posh designers - gorgeous. It's like a second hand shop with a difference. They also stock mother of the bride/groom outfits that have only been worn once, originally cost hundreds, even thousands and are in perfect condition. I wish I had have had more time to browse but I didn't - the woman who runs this place is the best sales assistant I have come across yet - lovely to chat to, no pressure, takes time, points out bargains and really seems to want to help. I'm sitting here wanting to go back for another look about. Great!

The Lisburn Road can be pretty pricey and sometimes a little conservative for a fashion-savy lady,…read moreand for that reason alone thank goodness for Deja Vu. Selling pre-worn designer (and not so well known, ahem, designer) ladies clothes, this place is a treasure trove of joy, often with quite unusual and rare pieces, perfect for when you don't want to turn up to your posh do with someone else in the same frock! That's what I love about here- the individuality. Super reasonable pricing too for what you get. They do turn around a good lot of clothes here and as they are second hand they may not have a huge variety of sizes, so if you see something you like don't dwell on it, just buy or it will be gone!

This pet-loving place can accommodate you if you own a horse or a hamster, a parrot or a Betta…read morefish, a lizard or a rabbit. My interest was in fishy snacks for two very spoilt pooches who give us unconditional love, two words that require nowt more to be said. Just like the flip side of that coin, irreconcilable differences, but boy was I surprised at the vast array of the calorie, vitamin, fat, protein, trace element counted selection for pets and the science behind it. I was initially just looking at dried food for dogs, mostly bagged and in pellets from a few hundred grams to 20 kilos plus when I passed the freezer to see frozen rats and hamsters for hungry snakes, lizards and meerkats. So, for pooches there was reindeer, wild boar, salmon, trout, turkey, cod, herrings, chicken and vegetarian and these doggy proteins are supported by things like kale, ginger, carrots, peas, forest fruits and on and on the selections went, either for gut health, digestion, teeth cleaning, coat shining, stamina and skin, coat and breath enhancement. Nothing was sold based on it tasting good. Not only do they farm the forests and fish the oceans for food but they go to the most mountainous region on earth too, with gluten free doggy chews made with Himalayan yak milk. It's hard to imagine Tibetan, Nepalese and Bhutanese farmers having enough yak milk to export it for pet food (I wonder if the chews taste like yak butter tea served to humans; it has a salty, plain yogurt taste - and the yellow yak butter helps chapped lips). I left the yak milk snacks and ended up buying vacuum packed, dried, 100% cod skins from China. Earlier in the day I'd bought dried haddock doggy treats from the local food market. These haddock doggy snacks, which were made locally in the fishing village of Kilkeel (just 20 miles away) were 100% fish, including skin, bone etc. The haddock came in at £8 for 200 grams but for equal weight the Chinese cod skins from 6.000 miles came in at £3.50. The pooches were not discerning - a fishy snack is just a snack, period - once (quickly) swallowed with a lick they really just wanted to know when the next one will arrive and care not if it's a fish from Kilkeel or Guangdong so I suppose I'll cover for them.
