Came in this morning to warm up *my own* coffee, which I brought in *my own* metal travel cup and poured into a paper cup I brought with me, to microwave it. I was in plain view of the employees, and the above cameras, the whole time. Nothing was said during the time I used the microwave, or as I was exiting.
After I get all the way back to my car (I was parked on the far side, down by the road), an employee (don't know his name--just that he was heavy-set & African American), while standing by the building's front door, shouts loudly at me from across the parking lot, "YOU DIDN'T PAY FOR THAT COFFEE!!!" (Which was deliberate on his part.)
I walked back and explained that the coffee was what I brought with me, that he could check the surveillance cameras (and already *should* have), and I showed him that the paper cup wasn't even theirs (it was from Shell).
Then, as I'm trying to reiterate how I was in full view of everyone and made it obvious the coffee was mine, suddenly he decides to end the conversation. As I'm walking away, he shouts, "Have a great day! Just don't come back!"
This employee obviously has a problem with people who: A) only come to warm up their own coffee in their own cup in the microwave, and B) takes his verbal assault further if he sees your car is a working class person's car.
Corporate needs to come down on this prejudiced, hateful, deliberately-combative employee. read more
