I'm treated with respect and my budget is given a high priority. I always have a great experience with Tom at Preferred Chrysler in Muskegon!
**Pros: There are many, many vehicles to choose from in a multitude of price ranges. Tom goes through some of the pros and cons of each choice before going out to the lot to view them - this gave me the chance to really think about my options before getting distracted by "the pretty red one!" My opinion and budget matter, and Tom finds cars to fit my needs rather than trying to adjust my needs to fit a car.
**Cons: There are lots of cars to choose from! Sometimes the decision isn't easy because they're all great choices! Plus, I don't like car shopping - but that isn't Tom's fault. At least he makes it less painful!
**The Review: I bought a car from Tom last May (2014), a Chrysler 200, and have been absolutely pleased with that car. Going into the dealership, I had no idea what I was looking for - I just knew I wanted something good on gas. Tom asked me about my kids, driving habits, features I liked in a car, that sort of thing. We talked about a couple different options, and I ended up test-driving only one car - the Chrysler 200. And I bought it that day! It was the perfect car for me and my family and I absolutely fell in love with it!
Two weeks ago, October 2014, I was involved in a roll-over car accident and the insurance company totaled my perfect Chrysler 200. Luckily everyone involved walked away from the accident with only a few bruises! So, after only four months, I had to do the dreaded car shopping again!
First, I went to a couple different car lots in the area. The first salesman tried to sell me a Toyota Camry. It was a nice car, just not what I was looking for. He then tried to sell me three more Toyota Camrys, all basically the same with just a few minor features that were different. The second car lot wanted me to lease a new Chevy Cruze. A great car, but I live way out in the country and drive entirely too many miles for a lease to be a good deal for me. Even so, the salesman was stuck on that. Failing that, he tried to get me to buy a Chevy Cruze - the only other car he showed me was a used 2009 Malibu. I'm sure it was a great car, but I wanted something newer and with a warranty.
After those two experiences, I went back to Tom at Preferred Chrysler. He seemed genuinely concerned when I told him about the car crash and made sure everyone involved was okay. He then seemed surprised when I said "I need to buy a new car." I was thankful he didn't jump right in at the opportunity to sell me a new car based on my misfortune, rather he waited until I brought it up.
Tom showed me several cars online, and I made the poor guy get the keys and let me test drive seven or eight different cars that day - in the pouring rain. I ended up deciding on a Mazda 6 - which is a great car. But, in the end, I decided I really missed my Chrysler 200. There were two very similar to my "old" car - the one I had just bought back in May - and I made the decision to return the Mazda and buy a Chrysler 200.
It's been a few weeks and I am so very pleased with my Chrysler 200! It feels good, drives good, and I know it will keep me and my family safe if we're ever in a bad accident!
The best part is, through the entire "shopping" process, Tom listened to me whine about how much I liked this or that about my old car and how this new one wasn't quite the same. Tom just smiled through it all, treated me with respect, and somehow managed to get my payments cheaper than they were before!
I don't think I'll ever shop at another dealership - Preferred Chrysler in Muskegon is absolutely, hands-down, the best place to shop for a new or used vehicle! It's my hope Tom is still there in eight more years when I start car-shopping for my daughter!
