Heard they use fillers in their pumps and do not give you the true amount of gas. Avoid if any other options!!!!

This is a BP Gas station with a large convenience store. The store operates as "Atlantis", which…read moreI'm sure is to piggy back off the "Atlantis Aquarium " a few blocks down the road. So I read the one review on Yelp which was Uber negative. The review didn't make sense based on my experience but when I looked further, this yelper hates everyone. So here's my take. There are about 4 islands with two pumps each. That's plenty of fueling stations for this location. Inside it's basically a general store with just about anything you need. BONUS: they have a Dunkin' Donuts store inside the C-Store. This is a real DD not just coffee. The only negative was the snow at the entrance and exits but everyone knows what's been going on in the area over the last few days, so you really have to be fair and not hold it against them. I don't spend much time in Riverhead anymore, and most of the major commercial business is along Route 58, but when I'm in Riverhead and need gas or whatever I'll make the detour to Main Street and patronize this BP Station.

Then he YELLED AT ME and walked off, cussing. I went inside to speak with the manager, who pretended to not understand English. I told him that I did not appreciate his VERY RUDE attendant, and he couldn't have cared less. Never apologized. He told me there were "two prices" for gas. One for credit, one for cash. I asked him WHERE THE SIGN WAS THAT EXPLAINED THIS. He couldn't answer, because there wasn't any. He tried to charge me more money than he pump showed. I went ballistic on him and he ended up charging me .65 cents more, which I contested on my credit card statement. AVOID THIS SCAMMING GAS STATION!!

For years I have been going to this gas station and filling up my cars. I always pay cash and I've…read morenoticed that so so often when I get change the bills are in such bad shape. I always found it so strange. Yesterday I gave the woman $40 for pump #4. That was two nice new clean $20 bills. Turns out my car only took $20 worth. When the woman gave me my change the bill was super beat up with a large piece of one corner torn off. When seeing that I simply asked can I have a different bill. She became so nasty like a really bad attitude saying "oh my God, money is money, l don't believe this, people in this country are so unbelievable money is money." Then she proceeds to give me four beat up $5 bills. She kept repeating what she said so derogatory. I couldn't imagine someone being so disrespectful to a customer. I then said I will not be doing business here anymore. She actually had the nerve to say "good I don't care." I don't know what her real problem is but she's a hater and will not be getting my hard earned money anymore. Beware!

This used to be my regular stop for filling my gas tank, but after two terrible experiences with…read morethe incompetent woman who seems to be running the place, I will NEVER EVER return here. This first experience was in July, when she threatened to call the police on me because I threw some trash away when I was getting gas. Last time I checked, you can throw away some random trash in the cans they have at the pumps. It wasn't like I was dumping all my household garbage , it amounted to an empty coffee cup, a couple of water bottles, and some broken crayons my kids had rolling around the back seat of the car. The next experience was just a couple of weeks ago in October. I pulled into the station, and as usual, there were several pumps that said NO CREDIT, CASH ONLY. But there were pumps that were without a sign and accepting credit. I pulled into a pump(#5) that appeared fully operational, dipped my card, selected my fuel, began to pump the gas. No sooner the gas starts pumping, she is sticking her head out the door yelling at me that I am on someone else's pump. The customer at pump (#9) is calling to her that he told her PUMP #9, and she is insisting no he said #5. Why in the hell would someone park at #9, but tell you to validate their money to a different pump? She then tells me I have to pay for the gas I pumped $3.24 in total. I said no problem, and offered my credit card, which she refused and said she can only resolve this by taking cash. Well, tough luck lady, I didn't have ANY CASH with me. Sorry, but this was her mistake, and she needs to figure out how to take care of the missing $3.24. I will never use your gas station for ANYTHING ever again. Additionally, the customer at pump #9 told me she refused to take some cash from him that seemed "too old". She does not know what she is doing.

Don't bother coming here if you have rented a Zipcar. It's one thing if people out here in the…read moreLong Island boonies don't know what a Zipcar is but it's quite another for a business owner to be completely obtuse. I attempted to put gas in my vehicle using my Zipcar gas card (for those unaware, you get your gas costs covered when renting a Zipcar & they have a special system for putting gas in the tank you can use with any gas station with a credit card machine at the pump). When I attempted to use my gas card, the machine reads "please see cashier." I presumed this cashier would be familiar with Zipcar & the mechanics of the gas card being the same as using a credit/debit card. No, this clueless & completely rude man with an accent asks me how much I need for the tank like I'm supposed to be some psychic who can predict the exact amount I need to get back to the place I'm to drop the car off and have enough in there for the next rider. I attempted to explain how the card worked and that I can't just rattle off an amount since it's not MY money being spent. He has me scan the card machine inside; I do this, go to the pump & it says "one moment please." The female working there was much more friendly & polite about this and seemed she might try to help me but the asshole guy goes "your card was rejected" and treated me like crap. I tell him I'm going to call up Zipcar & he can speak to them. I call Zipcar about this, the agent was willing to speak to him but he yells "I'm not speaking to anyone." I tell the agent that he apparently mistakes Riverhead for some metropolis like NYC & thinks he can afford to be an asshole to customers and be a caveman who is completely ignorant to things like Zipcar. So if you're a NYC resident in Riverhead for the Tanger Outlets or on business like I was or even looking at nature here, don't waste your time giving money to this technologically clueless dirtbag who thinks it's perfectly okay to treat a woman in a business suit like she were a piece of ghetto trash.
