And I know what many of you are thinking - Saturday nights are for bathing - what am I doing in a shower on a Wednesday? Okay, so it was a bit chilly out in the parking lot last night (in early February) and I simply wanted to work that chill out of teeth to keep them from chattering. Plus, as you will see below, the price wasn't all that bad. The shower room is adequate for one person, clean and well maintained. About the only thing they don't provide is someone to scrub your back. But after years of being fabulous and patting myself on the back, I was able to take care of that task without any assistance. So want about that 'hot and steamy' reference I made? No, I wasn't able to coax some alluring blonde in there with me. Rather, I was referring to the water temperature coming from the 5-position shower head. I tried each position on the shower spout and found them to be most invigorating! But what's with that soft water?!?! I rinsed and rinsed, but it felt like the soap never went away. I know some newer truckers like that soft and silky feel, but I'm old school - I want firm and grippy. I don't want that bar of soap getting away so easily. I want to recommend mid-week showers to all my family and friends. If you think $14 is a bit steep, do like I do. Last night when I got here, I went to the trucker section of the restaurant. After sitting there a while, I almost thought I was in church. One of the drivers started passing the hat and when he got to me, he took the money and handed it to me. Be said they all wanted me to take a shower. What a nice bunch of guys! OK, so bottom line, this is a nice truck stop and well worth the stop.

Was a very nice space, has new showers, got a coffee and relaxed for a bit. Parking is secure and convenient, I like stopping here much more that Pilot or Loves!

Hey, where did my old Fuel Mart go?…read more This place is all modern and everything on the inside. They did a complete rebuild, from the ground up, and they did a fantastic job! Now they have a spacious convenience store, complete with the typical offerings for travelers, including roller grill, soda fountain, fresh coffee, as well as trucker type merchandise. Along with the rebuild comes new shower facilities, a nice trucker's lounge, well-maintained restroom facilities. I don't pay much attention to the gasoline prices, but there is always a steady stream of cars at the gas pumps, both travelers and locals. Plenty of pumps, both gas and diesel, to accommodate all who enter. The diesel prices are always lower than any other in the area - bar none. It used to be that cash was king, and I suppose it is still that way. Even debit cards and credit cards got you the credit price, so remember to bring cash when you buy diesel. Limited parking at the Fuel Mart, but additional parking is available out back. I love this place!!

That was back before US-24 became a divided 4 lane highway. The truck stop remains, having changed hands a few times along the way. Presently, the sit down restaurant is closed, awaiting someone to take it over and put it back into operation. The restrooms are always clean, as well as the showers. They have a couple massage recliners and (I think) a video game or two. The convenience store has a decent selection of truckers stuff (CB radios,GPS units, antennas, lights, fuel additives, etc.). Typical truck stop prices. It also has snacks and refreshing drinks. They feature pizza (Hunt Brothers, I believe) by the slice. Hot coffee and tea are always available. Outside, they have 5 or 6 diesel lanes for big rigs, and multiple lanes for gasoline off to the right of the diesel. Their diesel prices are considerably cheaper than the local national chain competitors. A full service shop with 2 pull thru service bays operates during the daytime. They also have washout service for reefers. The parking lot is large and usually empty during the day. However, it fills up quickly when nightfall arrives, a situation the will continue to get worse as time goes on. All in all, a pleasant Mom-n-Pop facility that I continue to patronize in my travels through the area.
