TA Travel Center - Yesterday's sunset from the TA

TA Travel Center

A large woman in the customers svc area was very rude and demeening towards her and other customers in the room. Clearly miss phyllis was newer but eager to get me the answers I needed.

I shutdown at your TA for the night on 4-30-26. I stopped by the subway inside to grab me a bite to…read moreeat. The black girl behind the counter must be new because she were talking through an ear piece or something while asking me what I wanted? The customer is your focus and whoever is in your earpiece should have been put on hold. That's just common courtesy when working with the public. Anyway, she asked me what I wanted. I replied and said a 6 inch cold cut on white. This girl grabbed wheat bread like wheat and white sound just alike. Then asked me again what type of sandwich. I said a 6 inch cold cut on white. Why am I repeating myself to someone who's distracted using her earpiece? She needs more customer service training. I mean some things are just plain out ridiculous and if she doesn't know how to deal with the public she needs to find another job. All of this happened between the hours of 5:30 p.m. and 6p.m. Calling corporate Monday. By the way check your cameras it will show proof. It will show she pulled out bread i never asked for, etc. Play outside of work not with your customers who aren't playing with you. All of that wasn't called for. Do better.

Marathon - Counter space and a kid-friendly stool

Marathon

I don't normally review gas stations, but this one deserves it. The bathrooms here are the best…read moreI've seen at any truck stop, period. Every stall is gap-free with sturdy locks, and the entire space is immaculately clean every time we've stopped. The sinks have divider walls for better personal space (love this!), and there's even a kid-friendly sink with a built-in step stool--such a thoughtful touch. Plus, plenty of hand dryers and paper towel dispensers. This has become our routine stop every time we come through. It's just that good.

If you have been up and down 75 then you have seen the promise of 28 clean bathroom stalls, and if…read moreyou stop here not only is that promise fulfilled, but it is exceeded by far as in addition to those clean potties, you will find multiple eateries, more coffee than you need for your roundtrip, souvenirs, clothing, homemade chocolates and candies, locally sourced goods, showers, a dog park and even TV's in those bathrooms (atleast in the Men's - I cannot confirm there is one in the ladies room!). I will say that Marathon is not a big name in the truck stop/travel center game, but after stopping here recently, they are coming in hot! As mentioned above, this place has a lot to offer, a lot more than you expect when you pull in! The gas station itself features the normal snacks, drinks, slushees, candy, etc...that you expect, but they also offer a healthy dose of things you didn't know you needed or wanted like a massive souvenir section that is just as much home decor as it is roadside souvenir. Additionally, they offer a great coffee station that is extra large and has a lot of variety and options! They also have a chocolate counter that sells fresh bars and other sweet treats. In addition to the gas station stuff, there is a Burger King, Subway and Dunkin Donuts on site. I personally stopped and got lunch at the BK and then swung in DD for a to-go iced coffee! As for the exterior of the facility you will find a good amount of pumps, trucker pumps, a dog park and even a cool UGA Bulldog statue...remember though...no touching! Service was solid too. I purchased something from the souvenir register and she was friendly and nice. The cashier at the gas station side of things was also equally as friendly. Overall, this is a great addition to this exit! I do not frequent this area too much or go up and down 75 too often, but on the occasions that I do...I now have a solid stop on my route!
