They also stand up against the book-burning crowds in our society, you know, the type of people who want a repeat of 1939. The library isn't just a pillar of the community, they are the foundation of it. They offer many groups, and if you want something to do, just look at their calendar on the library's website. You'll find plenty of groups on there and who knows, one might be of interest to you. It's a great resource all around, and also a beautiful building. It offers somewhere quiet to go, but it's not too quiet either. If you want to go hang out with friends and chat? Go to the lycuem and sit in the comfortable chairs there. You are allowed to talk in certain rooms, there are a couple quiet rooms too if you need somewhere to study, like the history room. The staff are all very polite and so if you want a quiet place, ask one of them and they will lead you to one. Definitely worth checking out and visiting.

It always feels good to be greeted by name and with a smile. My older boys like "The Bob" -- the Robert Cormier teen room -- a lot and attend the monthly trading card Duel Night. My youngest son loves Sarah's reading/singing hour. Bathrooms are always clean. Great book selections and quite a good amount of toys in the children's room. They need a lot more DVDs, though, IMO, and could get rid of all the video tapes.

A major renovation was in 2002 when the library was closed for two years and opened again better than ever. Seen from the outside the library is a lovely but not extravagant building that seems to blend in well with the rest of the small town. Inside the library is very pleasant but again nothing extravagant or exceptional elegant. Just very pleasing and useful areas that are all well organized. The Conant Library has a nice children's department and a community room where lots of events and lectures take place. A very attractive and useful library that has served the community for a long time.

This is a good size library for a small town with various books I would want to read as well as…read moreother materials. They have lockers outside for pickup of materials so those nervous about covid don't have to come inside, and thus masking is optional, as I believe it should be. The building is nicely renovated, light and airy. There is ample free parking. There's a bulletin board with lots of local information as you enter, including some that encourages me to possibly relocate here someday. Seems like a great community.

Granite clocks and…read morebells The Princeton library is simply amazing. Not just impressive or kind of cool but just amazing. Difficult to come up with the proper adjectives to describe this library, especially consider what an itty, bitty little town Princeton is. The library's beginning was in 1884 when the generous and obviously very wealthy Edward Goodnow gave some money to have a library built. Actually Goodnow wanted a building built to be part library and part school. Another school for the kids was built around 1900 so the library took over the entire building. And what a building it is. Made of rose tinted granite and framed by brownstone, the building includes a huge clock tower with a thousand pound bell that still rings out every single hour. The site was selected because it had a great view and the library is indeed an imposing and stunning sight as you enter into the very, small town of Princeton. Once inside it just gets better. An incredible spiral staircase, the only one I have ever seen in a library is just the start. Lovely stained glass, great old pictures and some wonderful antique furniture is scattered about along with great wooden shelves and doors. Had to describe a library this wonderful. What made it even better were the two sweet and friendly librarians that took the time the tell us all about the incredible library that they were so proud of. I don't know if any library can ever be called perfect for everybody. But the stunning library in the tiny town of Princeton is as close to perfect as I've yet seen.

Visited during the Courier and Ives Cookie Tour in December. Nicely decorated for Christmas with…read morethe real Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus! Our host was very pleasant and we toured the upstairs and downstairs at our own leisure. There were quite nice displays in each room that told a nice story.
