So, this firm has at least 3 different Yelp presences, but they are all for the same company…read more Check the website, they are all the same, Yelp admins. I mention this 1) so that you make sure to check out the other pages (search for "levin law" or "yevgeny" - all 1 star reviews) and 2) because they removed my negative review based on "it was posted on 2 different companies so it must be fake." I'd guess they are taking down many negative reviews based on this flimsy excuse, so be aware. So....here's my experience. I was a seller, trying to do a sale of my apartment. I had a buyer lined up and ready to go, so it was lawyer time. Great! And they're cheap, how complicated could a straightforward apartment sale be for a company that obviously churns them out? The problem came when my buyer got spooked by some of the language in the contract they received. I don't know if it was their lawyers being dumb, or something the Levin firm had done because NO ONE WOULD TALK TO ME. It's even possible they were doing some kind of amazing job behind the scenes, but I'd never have known it. Because: I literally never got any contact with an actual lawyer. I called, I emailed, I had my broker call and email. Nothing. This despite the promises they make on their website. In fact, I'd probably let it all go if they didn't guarantee in writing that you will have a lawyer's phone number and be able to contact one directly when you need to, because that is NOT the case.

Most people looking for a litigation attorney focus on the wrong things -- responsiveness, bedside…read moremanner, how the consultation feels. None of that wins your case. What wins is the quality of what your attorney puts in front of the judge and whether they know the system well enough to use it. Gary represented us in Kings County Supreme Court. The landlord retained Rosenberg & Estis -- one of the largest landlord-side real estate litigation firms in New York City, with over 200 attorneys. Case dismissed in its entirety. All arrears waived. New caselaw established. He assessed the case within hours, identified the legal theory that won, made his own calls about what evidence to use and what to discard, and moved for summary judgment at exactly the right moment. Litigation is slow, Gary won't sugarcoat anything while you learn how to manage patience. His role isnt to keep you comfortable. He's working the case, not managing your anxiety. His work on our case established new caselaw -- the court held that Good Cause Eviction protections apply to common law ejectment actions, closing a loophole landlords were exploiting to bypass tenant protections. That precedent now protects tenants across NYC. Every other tenant in our building -- facing the same landlord, the same facts, the same condo conversion -- either lost their case or gave up. We were the only ones who fought and won. The difference was the attorney. If you're dealing with anything involving real estate in New York -- landlord-tenant disputes, lease issues, ejectment, condo conversions -- Gary knows these courts, this body of law, and how to make procedure work in your favor. That's what you're paying for.
