I really hate having to give this review a low score, but after multiple instances of mistakes made…read moreI have to. First and foremost, Dr. Gonzales is amazing! The best doctor I've ever had and is truly a patient advocate. However the issues have come up the staff. I needed FMLA paperwork faxed to my office and twice they have not sent in the paperwork even though the physician herself handed them the paperwork. After getting denied at work for no submission, I called the office to see what happened. After going through the back and forth with them, I didn't like that staff said, "Well how would we have a record or log of the faxes we submitted?" Wait what?! So you're telling me that if a lawyer asked for date stamps of when medical records were submitted you can't provide them because there is no history of it in your system. That's insane!! Even e-Fax has a submission history and how is it not even uploaded in my patient profile? You have to pay for them to submit it to your job, which is fine, but if you are paying for something and it's not getting done and then office staff gets an attitude about you inquiring it something needs to change. Another incident was when I gave the office a courtesy call about me not being able to make an appointment. I explained to the staff I wasn't able to make the appointment because I had a pain attack in the car and needed to pull over, which then she said if you can't make an appointment then you need to let us know more than 24 hours notice so then someone else who needs an appointment can be able to make it. While still coming down from the attack, I said, "Sorry I didn't have the foresight to know that I was going to have a panic attack on my way to the appointment. Next time I should be more considerate of other people," and hung up the phone. I understand what she was TRYING to say, which was you will have to pay for a missed appointment or canceled appointment and I didn't care about that. I was raised right that if you can't be at someplace at the time you said you were going to be there then you need to give them a heads up, but the office staff needs to be retrain and instead of reading from a prompt understand what the patient is saying. Like really, would you say this to someone who was on the way to the ER or urgent care or in an accident? No, at least I hope not. I haven't dealt with all the physicians here, but the medical assistants or nurses and Dr. Gonzales and NP Satterwhite are great, it is the front desk and medical billers who need a retraining on how to deal with patients because without the patients there wouldn't be a business.

It's kind of stupid to have an option on your phone menu to reach someone outside of normal hours…read morefor them to completely ignore you. Especially when it's something as time-sensitive as prescription refills. I called CVS to refill a prescription on 12/20. I got a text from the pharmacy 12/27 that the provider had not responded. Called the Dr.'s office same day and left a message. Still no response. Thank goodness this isn't something my dad needs to not die but it would be super nice to like, you know, have the medication he has been prescribed. It's not like I called at 8pm on Christmas Eve. 12/20 is plenty of time for the primary care physician OR someone they have delegated in their absence to manage patient concerns over the holiday break to respond to an inquiry. For this practice to have so many doctors but no one managing prescription refills is just stupid. Bad customer service. It is irresponsible to have precisely no one monitoring phone calls and voicemails during what is shaping up to be a two week vacation for the entire office. Maybe I can reach them this way? Hey, will someone in the office call Chuck's daughter please? Thanks. I've been waiting for one of his prescription refills for over 10 days now.

Wonderful prenatal care experience. Terrible birth and postpartum experience. If it wasn't for my…read morefamily intervening and hospital transfer not sure if my baby would be here today... Kayti allowed me to be in active pushing for over 4 hours and expressed no concerns. My family pulled her aside on two occasions expressing their concerns regarding the prolonged time and belief that my baby was in jeopardy. Kayti insisted that it was completely safe for me to continue pushing. My family had to intervene and call 911 against her recommendation to get me to the hospital. Upon arrival, the hospital team catheterized within seconds. Kayti and team tried to do a catheterization multiple times at home and were unable to do so. My delivery and its aftermath revealed multiple critical health concerns which were related to a high stress prolonged birth: my baby's cord blood showed excess acidity, indicating high stress levels and posing a risk of brain damage; my baby's glucose levels were low, requiring 24 hours of monitoring; and my baby had difficulty regulating his body temperature, dropping as low as 94 degrees Fahrenheit, necessitating placement under a heating lamp. All these complications relate directly to a stressful and mismanaged labor.

No words can truly describe the experience I had with Kayti but I will try my best to write it out…read more I was referred to Kayti from my doula Rosie. She was the first Midwife and the only midwife I called to interview. I instantly knew that she was going to be my midwife. The prenatal care that I had with Kayti was remarkable. My appointments with her were more than clinical. My husband and my toddler were able to come to the appointments. I truly felt that Kayti listened to everything I had to say. She really got to know me as a whole person medically and personally. Which is really needed when you are planning an intimate home birth. During my labor Kayti and her student, Amy were there for me every step of the way. I was never scared at any point of the birth. I put all my trust in them and felt supported the entire time. This says a lot because my labor was over 48 hours and I ended up transferring to the hospital because baby did not want to descend into my pelvis. I believe that Kayti did everything she could for me and my baby boy. When she told me that we needed to transfer. I knew it was the right decision. Even then, I felt like my baby and I were safe. We then transferred to the hospital and Kayti stayed with me and advocated for me until I had to go back for a cesarean. Post natal care was just as amazing. Since I did not get to have the birth that I had planned at home, Kayti planned a rebirth and a bone closing ceremony for me at my home at our last meeting together. That was exactly what I needed emotionally and spiritually. This just shows how thoughtful and loving Kayti is. My baby boy didn't come into this world as expected, but it was his own unique story and Kayti was apart of this unforgettable experience. I am forever grateful for her and Amy.
