My 94-year old mother is dying from kidney failure and heart disease. In January 2015, her primary doctor gave her about a year to live, so she's on borrowed time. In addition, she's in stage 5 of kidney failure and the decline in kidney function is related to the decline in cognitive function. Her memory is foggy - she no longer reads newspapers, but spends most of her days sleeping. When talking to her, she often has a vacuous look on her face. My mother is a proud woman and doesn't want to appear stupid, so if you ask her a question, she will say she understands when she has no idea what has been said to her.
In June, 2016, her attorney of long-standing lost her license to practice, so I assume it was a sibling who hired James Bowers. It is apparent to me that this sibling is using him to vent her anger and hostility towards me by eliminating me from my mother's trust as a trustee and beneficiary. This is against my mother's wishes. Of all her children, I am the one my mother wants to protect.
Attorney Bowers does not know my mother. On a video I asked my mother if she signed anything and she said she can't remember - her memory is gone. My mother suffered a stroke in July 2016 and her comprehension is limited. But James and the sibling had my mother sign documents that are not easy to comprehend. I find this unconscionable. My mother loves me and would not want my sibling to hurt me in anyway.
In addition, the sibling has Durable Power of Attorney over my mother and my mother's check book. It wasn't enough that my mother gave this sibling and her daughters close to $100,000- now she wants it all.
In addition, this sibling filed a No Trespass Order against me, so that if I step foot on my mother's house that is deeded to me, she can shoot me. She carries a gun in her purse.
I strongly feel that Bowers is not representing my mother, but instead my vengeful sibling. If he knew my mother, he would know that she wants peace among her children. Filing a no trespass order, and eliminating me from my mother's will and trust is something she would not do or approve of him doing. read more
