After looking over the attractive selection of frames…read moreand selecting one, I mentioned to the owner Jimmy, that I had had cataract surgery for both eyes about two months ago. He immediately asked me if I had Medicare and, when I responded in the affirmative, he recommended that I go to another store that he knew accepted Medicare. It should be known that although Medicare does not have an eyeglass plan, they do cover necessary eyeglass prescriptions for patients who have undergone cataract surgery. I probably would not have not this had he not told me. Since moving to this area of North Carolina, from out of state, my wife and I have been amazed at the ubiquitous honesty and kindness of the North Carolinians we have met. Jimmy was no different. On top of everything else, upon noticing the broken pair of glasses clenched in my hand, he offered to repair it for me and refused our attempt to pay him for this. We're glad to be living here.

I stopped at the nearest optician Hendersonville Opticians in Laurel Park Jim McCall looked at the glasses and said they had reinstalled the lenses on the wrong side!!!! He preforms surgery at a very modern facility located in Mills River. The same great service and attention is provided by the surgery center staff. Scripted glasses arrived and I could not properly see distance. They took back glasses for adjustment. Returned glasses and I could not see closeup. Took back glasses and adjusted to a non-accurate and uncomfortable compromise of sight. Approximately a month later lens fell out of frame. I repaired. About a month later the lens fell out again. Took it to store for repair and waited over a half an hour for service. One month later lens fell out for a third time. Said "Oh fuck it", repaired the lens and wrote this review.

I was kept waiting for 20 minutes in front and then another 10 in back office. I got a cursory, incomplete eye exam before she rushed out to her next patient. I am very impressed with Walmart Vision Center. I had my eye examination done somewhere else but…read moredue to costs, I came to Walmart Vision for the glasses. I noticed that I was having problems reading road signs. I was seeing double. The "other" place did not take ownership of this problem. Instead, they stated my eyes had changed some and gave me a new prescription. We are only talking about 3 months so I doubt my eyes had changed at all if any. I was looking at paying for over $300 for new glasses again. When I talked with Walmart Vision Center, they stepped up to the plate and told me that would replace them free of charge. My hats off to Walmart Vision Center, especially Holly and April, who made my day much better. Today I went into Walmart Vision Center to have a replacement bow repaired on my glasses. The woman…read morehad replaced the bow two weeks prior. The woman took my glasses into the back and when she returned she said she couldn't fix them. When she handed my glasses back to me they were missing the entire bow and hinge. I told her that I had to have the parts so I could at least try to glue them so I had something to wear. She huffed and went back into the back. This time when she came out she said she couldn't find the hinge because she had thrown it in the trash. When she saw that I was dismayed she said "well, it was mine anyway" and turned and walked away. We then went to Dr. Tim Anderson at Professional Vision Center. They were so kind and helpful and happily repaired my glasses with a new bow and hinge. Five minutes later we walked out with my glasses repaired, adjusted and cleaned at no cost. Do not waste your time going to a cut rate place like WalMart Vision Center.
