HORRIBLE SERVICE Made a home insurance quote request online and specifically asked for this office to contact me/create the quote. No one returned my call...nearly a week later I called them directly and asked if they ever received my request/some request of it and after having to repeat myself, the guy just hung up on me! Clearly customer service does not exist here and explains why they aren't acting on their on-line leads. read more

Since my review on my recent experience with Bow Valley Insurance, I was contacted by Daryn H, NB Manager. Daryn was genuinely concerned we had a good conversation and I felt better after we talked. I accepted Daryn's apology, he also send me a complementary Fuel Card that was a bonus. I made change in my policy and still I was paying for what I was not driving for a month or so and when I called her it went to VM and she started talking to me via email. When I called customer care number they explained me that I still had the other vehicle on my file and I was paying for both of them. I asked them to make a change and they did that on their end but I will not be dealing with that insurance agent again rather I would like to wait for half an hour over the phone to have accurate information. How can 5 year experienced driver is paying the same amount as 1 year experience driver? yes I was told that I will be paying same if I keep my self as principal driver or my wife as principal driver and then I got a call from that person and she was like no-one is going to touch your file as I have that open and I sent her so many emails about not touching my file. There is no -ve star rating otherwise I would rate it up to -5 or somthing read more

Extremely disappointed with their services. Amir Nasser has caused a lot of headache for me and my family requesting unnecessary information and delaying our insurance policy. I've gotten the general feeling from him that he is pessimistic or not trusting towards those that are in need of auto insurance. I would not recommend at all. read more

I was able to get a reasonable rate for my car insurance after just one call. The agent is really helpful and knowledgeable, easy to contact, short waiting time and great customer service. They are very accommodating and I am pleased to changed my insurance with them. read more

Backdoored by BVI! I was a client of BVI for many years and had many of my family and friends switch to BVI. Recently I had requested a quote before purchasing a newer vehicle. The quote I received stated, had a understandable $270/year increase over my current policy. So I proceed with the vehicle purchase and advised BVI to proceed with processing the insurance at the quoted rate. Then once I received my first charge and paperwork in the mail the actual increase turns into $946 /year !!! $676 per year more than what I was quoted just before buying the vehicle. I could not believe how they had deceived me. When asked about it with the proof of email (quote) BVI would not honor their quote and had me cornered as I had purchased the vehicle under the knowledge my insurance would only increase by $270 per year not $946 !! DO NOT TRUST BOW VALLEY INSURANCE QUOTES! read more

Terrible experience. Multiple times over the past 3 years when trying to call, I was told "my agent" was not available and only "my agent" has access to my file. All other agencies can service me without "a special agent" who has to call me back when it is convenient for them. I brought this issue to a manager there (Linda) and was told "we are not a call centre. This Agency does not value my time, was difficult to work with and I would not recommend them...ever. Update, I was able to reach an agent today with no call back. They took my complaint seriously. I am raising the rating by one. I mentioned that my home was for sale. The agency revealed this to the insurance company so I have concerns that the insurer will raise my rates due to the information my agent has provided them. I will update this if this happens. read more

We actually got referred to this broker by a friend of my husbands who works at the Fish Creek Nissan dealership who uses this broker for their car sales. I love it when I get someone on the phone right away, like a human without the robo menu is a bonus for me, so they started off right. The receptionist was super nice, listened to my concerns and gave me some feedback and was a total professional, she transferred me to a broker in the office and he was incredibly knowledgeable and extremely pleasant to deal with and obviously knew the industry very well. He took some info and started an application for me and said he would get back to me by the end of the day and if he got busy he would have his assistant get back to me. Bonus points, a pretty solid human receptionist and assistant who would actually talk to me by the end of the day...ok, ok, I see you. By the end of the day I not only got a call back, the insurance was quoted LESS than what I was paying with TD and decided to add my car to get a better rate. I didn't even have to go in to the office, everything was done though phone and email and a pink card was emailed to me shortly afterwards. If I had to pay more, I would still use this office; its small but in a good way and I found out they also have an office in Edmonton. They remember you when you call, and send you emails keeping you informed-always a good sign and tells me they run a tight ship. I will never go through a bank again, it took over 6 months to settle a minor claim, but its my own fault for not shopping around, banks are in the business of making money not selling insurance so lesson learned. Kudos on being the small guys who still understand what customer service is, I will be referring friends and family here.

First, they'll delay your claim for months with lowball offers, then ignore your calls and emails, making it nearly impossible to communicate with their representatives or file a complaint. They bully you into accepting their terms because their corrupt system, supported by upper management, is designed to exploit clients. They don't care about losing a customer today, knowing they can always find someone new to scam tomorrow. The legal system does little to protect consumers from these large insurance companies, as it is heavily influenced by them. The best way to protect yourself from such exploitation is to avoid companies like Intact altogether. Cancel your policy and boycott them, hoping that one day their unethical practices lead to their downfall.

I have been a client with bow valley insurance for the past 2 years my account manager is Margaret Kocot she has been the best person that I have ever dealt with in the insurance industry. She works hard to get me the best rates keeps informed about any changes to my auto and homeowner policies. Any inquiries I may have are responded to promptly and by end of the business day or sooner I have an answer. She is a hard working caring professional in her field. The level of customer service I receive is outstanding. I would highly recommend bow valley insurance and Margaret. I have been a customer of Bow Valley Insurance since the early 90's and I continue to be a loyal customer due to their great service and personal care in looking after me. They work hard to find me the best coverage at the best rates, and are always knowledgeable on finding ways to save a few bucks. For the past few years I have been dealing with Tammy and she calls me at each year's renewal to offer some options on further reducing my home and auto insurance. Each time I've made a change, (new house or new vehicle), Tammy has been quick to get everything I need ready to go giving my piece of mind and an easy transition. We had our business insurance with Bow Valley and were so impressed with the amazing customer service that we decided to switch our home and auto to them as well. We weren't expecting to save any money doing this because we had a special rate through work with our old insurance agency. Not only did we save a ton of money, we also have way better customer service and better insurance on top of it. And Maria Train is worth every star!! Even though I grew up in Calgary, I have just returned to the city after a decade overseas. Had to get insurance for a new car. Called BVI and Maria came to the rescue. She sorted through the maze of past insurance companies in several different countries to ensure that I got the benefit from twenty plus years of claim free driving. She got all the necessary paperwork to the dealer so that we could take delivery of the new vehicle without a hitch! I then asked Maria to sort out a tenant insurance package. I called BVI because the broker I had been with for well over 10 years was not being helpful and provided no customer service. I had sold a property and asked to have the insurance discontinued but even with an email to confirm, the request got lost. When I contacted BVI they gave me a quote for 2 cars and our home and came in much lower and with better coverage. Thankyou Arron. read more

I didn't used to think I had an 'insurance broker', but then I 'found' Michele Hopewell. After an at-fault bump last year, I figured my insurance would go up. Michele proactively looked at my file, reached out to let me know and found me a better rate, with my condo insurance. And, instead of going up, all of my insurance went down.
