Went there to have them review my mri of my back and neck, totally not happy, i have 3 herniated…read moredisc in my lower back, and 2 in my neck, prior surgeries yrs ago. One in my back is going down the nerve canal, 6 Mos of physical therapy else where, neck I've been getting radio frequency done 10 lus yrs for pain relief, no drugs, they took exrays of my back and neck, asked dr Kenosha if had all my mri s and procedures, nope only had my medical records from dartmouth and procedures 12yrs ago never got my recent medical procedures. What a waste of time and poor medical practice, for my back is seen dr Zmurko again, I had a friend who seen him and swore he was the best. I guess if you a working man. Im disabled and can't work do to my neck and back. Did a steroid injection that made things worse 10 days later in major pain. The friend had one I have 3 and two that are causing numbness and pain down both legs. But see these clowns think that if its not a text book case then your not a surgery case. I have documents of loosing most of my feelings to my legs, so I dont get the text book pain and feeling. And im a high tolerance for pain person. But when im stumbling on rough ground and collapse from the pain that's an issue. Even the therapist said I need to be seen by a surgeon because of my issues. Tired of arguing with doctors that think they know everything but dont even look at all your medical records except dartmouth who said after a messed up surgery I was going to be a quadrapoligic. That was 12 yrs ago. Im still walking but because I have fought to get where I am. I get a good doctor and they leave. And no I dont want pain meds or need them. Just want real doctors who actually care and want to help not shove you to the side and talk to you like your an idiot. Because you dont want to go against other doctors. Dartmouth screwed up and you think they are right. Bone chip in my spine left from them. If your going to see a patient get all there medical records together and actually read them. To walk into my appoint not even having all my last 6 yrs of medical records and writing that I didnt have other procedures to cover your lack of not getting all my files and telling me to go back to ny for my medical care you sir are a disgrace to the medical feild.

I hated this place…read more Just to start care here you have to send out records requests and if those records don't come back you can't make an initial intake appointment! They then leave it up to you to get your previous providers to send the records. After this, I needed a referal to see my surgeon who is out of state, my doctor Lora Lapreese said she would send out a referral. That didn't happen. One of my medications required a prior authorization because it's a controlled substance, but before we even got there she made me sign a "stimulants contract" saying "oh everyone in VT on these medications has to sign these". That's a lie. Also, after the insurance company put up a fuss about covering my medication because it's expensive, I then had to call daily to motivate her nurse to do her job and figure this mess out, all while not on my medication, and getting discrete undertones of being treated like a junkie. The doctor's nurse rarely calls me back. The answering staff are an experience too; Every time I call it's something new, they're either rude, short with me, continually transfer me to voicemail before I can finish my statement explaining the intended party to be reached is at lunch and that I need to speak with someone else, I've had answering secretaries gatekeep me from talking with my doctor's nurse by continually asking me for my DOB so they can look me up then when I comply they proceed to try to help me themselves which they can't because I already tried that and had to call back, and when I ask for my doctor's nurse repeatedly they continually block me. Very frustrating. I also got to meet their outwardly transphobic psychiatrist/nurse practisioner Claire Connor who made it perfectly clear to me that she should not treat me because I am transgender, continually impropperly gendered me throughout the session, and was even bold enough to call me a "young man"...I'm a young professional in my 20's, have presented female for over a decade now and am legally recognized as such by the government, and she is a transphobic bigot who does not deserve her practicing license. I will NEVER go to this company again and I would never recommend these "professionals" to anyone, even my worst enemy. STAY AWAY!!!

Updated review: I have two insurances and both of which cover refraction tests. I recently had an…read moreappointment at Central VT Eye Care where I had to pay $50 for a refraction test. There's an old receptionist who thinks she's above everyone that comes in and has a sign on the counter stating that $50 will be due at the time of service for prescriptions, refractions and other services and that your insurance won't pay. She really should take that sign down as it is not only wrong but it's fraudulent. Most insurances pay for 1 routine eye exam per year. Eye exams include refraction tests. It is a test that determines if the patient needs a pair of glasses. I had to pay $50 in order to leave. I received a rather snotty response when I explained that I have two insurances and was told that because I didn't have Medicaid listed as my primary insurance, Medicaid wouldn't pay for the refraction test. (Medicaid is never listed as primary unless you don't have any other insurance whatsoever. At that point, it would be your only insurance, irrelevant of primary or secondary) After stating that I would've liked to have had that explained to me before the appointment, the old receptionist then smiled and tapped the top of her little sign that stated the insurance thing, like she won a prize. Disgusting woman. Not only was she 100% wrong, I later found out that my PRIMARY insurance, United Healthcare, PROVIDES COVERAGE for refraction tests. So BOTH of my insurances would've paid that fee. After much research, I demanded them investigate why it was that I had to pay that money. 10 minutes later, I got a refund receipt. That only happened because they knew they were wrong to have charged me that, not because I was insistent or persistent. Know what your insurance does and does not cover. United Healthcare and VT Medicaid both provide coverage for refraction tests so if you have both of those insurances, make sure you tell that old receptionist that no, you will be billing my insurance and that you should probably take that foolish sign down before a lawsuit is brought against her and the practice. It's fraudulent to bill someone for something insurance already pays for. If you already paid the $50 and have not been refunded, call your insurance company to make sure Central VT Eye Care wasn't paid a fee for the refraction test. If they were, Central VT Eye Care would be guilty of insurance fraud because they then would've been paid TWICE for a service that insurance already paid for. Another receptionist, probably better suited for shelf stocker at a farm store, told me that they used to bill for refraction tests. So they just simply didn't want to have to do the paperwork anymore. Protect yourselves, nobody else will. I got the money back, not everyone else may be so fortunate to research the way I did to make that happen. Most just pay and go about their day. Very fraudulent, Central VT Eye Care.
