The only contact method I could find was Facebook Messenger. My messages were read, but I never received a response. Regardless of whether they were able to assist, I would have expected the courtesy of a reply. Being ignored when trying to obtain information about repair work was extremely disappointing and made resolving the matter much more difficult. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend their customer service.

Similar story again this morning with Kim's car where they didn't try to sell me tyres although the tracking did need to be re-aligned. Unlike the guy from the alarm company whose recent inspection was a seeming race against some imaginary clock, their approach is measured and professional and leaves you with the feeling that they've done the job properly. They have a warm & comfortable seating area with a free coffee machine and a window that you can watch them working through or they seem quite happy for you to watch more closely if there's not too much going on. If you decide to give them a try, bear in mind that the entrance is in the end of Lower Church Street. Also, Saturdays are often busy so I usually call ahead to book a slot.

I then realised that I had only ordered 1 tyre rather than the 2 required, called the branch and they amended the order. Received an email confirming the tyres were ready and also a phone call asking if I wanted to come in earlier and have the tyres fitted. It took less than 30 mins for the team to carry out the work and have me on my way. Recommend this branch to anyone - so happy with the service that I have booked my car in for it's MOT in a couple of weeks. Well done.

As many residents of Hove are away there is a little cobbled muse just off the crossroads where the…read moreDrive meets Cromwell road. This little muse is called Cambridge Grove and is packed with little backstreet garages. These types of place are often given a bad rep by the media and larger dealers and service centres. In a number of cases this is totally unwarranted. Kingpin Auto services is a prime example if this. The Guys who work here are professional, polite and surprisingly cheap. As you enter the garage it's a little unclear where you should be heading or indeed if you should be in there at all. But once you've cautiously made your way past the ramps and filthy oil drums you reach an office at the back and will probably be met by Steve or John. The two of them have been uncommonly cheery every time I've been to see them and they can normally get any work you need doing done the same week. Be careful where you park though as with so many garages on such a small street the traffic can be a nightmare and the politics around parking a total minefield.

Unfortunately the car developed an unforeseen fault after a couple of weeks. It wasn't anything that could have been predicted or found in an inspection or service, so just unlucky there and that's why it's so important to have a good car dealer!. I called Kev and he got my car into his garage guys. Turned out to be a bit complicated and ended up with a fair amount of work being needed. Since it was all to do with the fuel system and/or the engine you'd have thought my 3 month RAC guarantee would have covered it! But the RAC refused all claims as not being covered, so 0 stars for them! But A1 Car Search paid for everything, including taking the car to a Toyota garage for one procedure and also getting a tool specialist in when an obstinate part couldn't be removed. It didn't cost me a penny, although I know Kev shelled out a fair amount. I love my Rav and I'd recommend A1 Car Search to anyone who wants peace of mind when buying a second-hand car. Well done Kev and your team
