Wonderful teachers with authentic lineages. Online and in person. They also have lovely grounds open for visitors to walk.

The Providence Zen Center is an incredible, healing place. I stayed there for a month in 2022 and…read moreit was a transformative experience. Everyone in the community is so incredibly kind. The mission of the Providence Zen Center is just simply to focus on compassion and practice meditation. That's it. And if by being more compassionate, learning to be more in the moment, learning to be focused and in control of our minds can help make the world a better place and help others, then heck yeah I'm going to keep doing that! I truly believe that people should at least visit the Providence Zen Center once, either on Wednesday nights at 5:30pm for dinner and meditation instruction and practice, or come check out the Sunday morning meditation instruction/practice at 9:00am and the Dharma (wisdom) talk led by a Dharma Teacher at 10:45am. The grounds are beautiful (there is a LOT of space to wander), the people are awesome, and they're even working on doing organic farming! I helped take care of plants when I stayed there. They've been selling their homegrown vegetables in farmer's markets after harvesting. The goodness they put into the local and greater community is immeasurable! It's a nonprofit organization too, so if you donate anything, it's tax-deductible. I sincerely hope that the Providence Zen Center can thrive but that can only happen if people continue to visit and join practice! So if you're looking for a place to grow your mindfulness, your compassion, and your meditation practice, look no further, this is the place for you :)

I had no idea that there was a Buddhist Temple right next door in Wakefield. I was lucky enough to…read morebe invited by a close friend to go to the Temple for a relaxation session. Upon arriving at the Temple, I was surprised by its exterior appearance as it looked like a standard multi-family just like the other structures on the street. We walked through the front door into a large foyer with a few miscellaneous wall hangings and shelving for everyone's shoes. So I removed my boots and placed them on a shelf and followed my friend up a small flight of stairs and through a doorway. As I passed through the doorway in to a large room approximately 50 feet by 40 feet, I was transported to a Buddhist Temple. The wood floors perfectly polished, not even a smudge. From the ceiling hung an unlimited amount of beautiful Chinese Paper Lanterns. Then I glanced to the left and that's when I knew I was in an authentic Buddhist Temple. A larger than life Golden Wall Statue, 2 10 foot murals, a 5 foot bell which must be heard miles away, a wall of mini statues with lights and much much more. The room had an Aura of peace and wellbeing. Everyone gathered in a circle around the Crystal Healing Bowls and the Lightworker. I proceeded to make myself comfortable by arranging 3 mats so I could sit, lay and relax in major comfort. I was then treated to a session of relaxation accompanied by Crystal Healing Bowls and miscellaneous relaxation sounds and words from the Lightworker. This particular Lightworker also uses Tibetan Singing Bowls which I hope to experience on my next journey to a cleansed soul. This all lasted for approximately an hour and when it was done, it was as if my soul was cleansed and free of all bad and stressful things, almost a state of pure freedom and happiness. This is believe it or not a free session, but it's customary to leave a donation on your way out. Average donation would be $20-$25/per person. Quite a bargain for the experience. I am definitely going to attend more various sessions here. I give Mun Su Sa Buddhist Temple a Solid 5 Stars.
