My paint was in okay shape but definitely not prepared for TX heat so having it properly equipped to deal with the conditions was a must. Ceramic coatings can be DIY'd for cheaper, but without the proper tools or space to work in, your car is in much better hands with people like Alex and Eric. At this time, the shop foreman was a very kind man named Danny Starnes, and he wrote a estimate for a frontal bumper and collision repair, and I had the eventual work dent repair done by technicians employed by the Autobody Brand and was pleasantly surprised by the superior end result. Now I am thirty five years older and still have a great future ahead, but I have a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan that has a nasty dent on the sliding entry door and I would eventually like to have repaired and color matched up as close as possible. I had a life changing brush with a deadly virus called Meningoccocemia, and instantly became a deaf quadrilateral amputee halfway around the world, in Christchurch, New Zealand, where I was an Organizational Behavior and Management Lecturer, teaching university undergraduate students in Commerce. I returned to Houston, Texas, where I received the technical training and physical therapy for my life back home in north Denton, Texas, 446 Strata Dr., Denton, Texas 76201. Special thanks to Matt and TJ (I learned the name of the painter) for repairing and repainting my new-to--me BMW 330i ZHP just right! Not two days after I bought this beauty from a friend, some low-life POS here in Denton keyed it. But since I needed a front bumper repaint and a dent fix on another door, it just got done all at the same time. Just like my front end repaint of my 1998 4Runner (below), Mat was willing to work with me on lowering my out of pocket cost as much as possible by allowing me to remove body parts to allow me to save on labor and reinstallation costs that the shop would charge. This actually allowed me to remove the black door and front bumper protection parts (black strips) and recondition them with a graphene-type black coating. Just like last time, Mats and crew did a solid job. I opted not to blend the rear passenger door panel to save a grand or so and they still did an excellent paint match! The key scratches along the passenger door are all gone as is the dent that the previous owner's wife put in it. Also, I had Mats and team paint the front bumper as it was faded pretty bad, and lastly there were a bunch of white door dings caused again by the PO's wife. Oh, the shop also does mechanic work. They fixed the rear passenger door's window regulator and now the window works as it should. The car looks AMAZING. She'll be a garage queen for sure for now and I have a bunch of little things I need to do to get it perfect. But again, the paint job is fantastic, the service was great, and the communications by all parties kept me informed and happy. My beloved 1998 4Runner (owned since 2000) spent most of its life in CA and has been one of the best vehicles I've owned and has taken me to far off places but has reliably performed on the day-to-day stuff that life threw at me. Needless to say though at 275K miles, I didn't want to break the bank getting it painted. I called about 7 different places and 5 of them never returned calls so I went to Carstars because it was close to my work place. Mats understood that I am a car guy and take pride in this vehicle. He allowed me to remove some exterior parts that I knew how to do to save on money, and I really appreciated that. From there, he and the crew there turned my vehicle over to me in about 8-9 days. The paint looks great! Oh, the prior paint job from an autobody place in CA had delaminated at the 10 year mark as they said it would, so this was a repaint. Anyways back to the paint job, I don't see a single flaw and I hope it lasts as long as they say it will. So far so good, no complaints. Highly recommend that you talk with Mats! I've attached a bunch of before and after shots though the after shots do not have the fender flares and the antenna back on as I'm waiting for parts.

When I brought my car to Magic Touch, they took the time to inspect it and honestly told me I didn't need a new assembly at all--only the mirror glass needed to be replaced. They fixed it quickly, saved me hundreds of dollars, and everything works perfectly. It's hard to find a shop that's this honest and knowledgeable. They could have easily charged me for unnecessary repairs, but instead they did exactly what was needed. The quality of their work and their integrity really stood out. This is going to be long, but if you're considering taking your vehicle here, you should read it…read more I'm being detailed because I genuinely hope it prevents someone else from going through what I did. Thankfully, I also work for many law firms that deal with car wrecks so they know where NOT to send their clients. I've taken my car to this shop for three separate accidents over the years. The first two were mostly body damage repairs and I had no major issues. The third accident, a front-end collision in September 2025, turned into an absolute nightmare. Between September 2025 and May 2026, I had to bring my car back FIVE separate times for the exact same unresolved issues. Eventually, I gave up and took my car elsewhere because Magic Touch still had not properly repaired it and almost caused my insurance company to total the vehicle until I canceled the claim to avoid that. The biggest issue involved my AC system. I repeatedly told them something was still wrong, but instead of actually finding the leak, they kept refilling the refrigerant and sending me on my way. Because of that negligence, my compressor eventually failed and the casing cracked -- despite the compressor only being a little over a year old. Out of those five return visits, they reimbursed my rental car twice after I complained about continuously paying out of pocket because I don't have another vehicle. One visit, they even handed me Visa gift cards after again failing to fix the issue. It honestly felt less like customer service and more like, "We're tired of dealing with you." I also have recordings from my last drop-off. In one, the owner, Brody, points at my car and asks, "What's up with that?" When another employee says, "The AC is having problems again," Brody responds, "Nah, f**k that," while complaining about my car being back again. Maybe if the issue had been fixed the first time, it wouldn't have kept coming back. Every time I returned, I was treated more like an inconvenience than a customer simply asking them to fix the same unresolved problem. Eventually, they had to involve the shop across the street because they couldn't figure it out themselves. One employee texted me the quote from that shop, then later sent me (after I asked the next day) another estimate that was literally DOUBLE what they had originally been told, because "if they denied it then they still had room to cover repairs" is what the text message from the shop said -- and that inflated estimate had already been sent to the insurance company. When the insurance company later contacted me to say they were considering totaling my car, I sent them all the text messages, recordings, and estimates I had received. The adjuster literally told me they were confused because insurance had ended up covering damage that the shop itself may have contributed to through negligence by failing to locate the leak when I originally reported it. The adjuster even used the words "insurance fraud" -- not me. At that point, I took my car elsewhere to a shop that has done major repairs for me before. I'm now paying around $3,400 out of pocket just to finally have my vehicle repaired correctly. To make things even worse, the new shop discovered that Magic Touch had replaced my radiator after the wreck and apparently NEVER added coolant. I brought my car there six total times, including immediately after the accident, and somehow nobody noticed the coolant reservoir was empty? That repair is now being added to my bill along with an expansion valve replacement. You can call me a liar if you want, but I have endless text messages, recordings, invoices, and documentation to back up every single thing I'm saying. The unfortunate reality is that they seem friendly until they no longer want to deal with your vehicle. Once that happens, you absolutely feel it. The ONLY reason this review is getting two stars instead of one is because the body work itself looked decent.
