This place is infested with roaches, there are not hundreds of them, but 1000s. All sizes. They are crawling on the washers and dryers, they are on the walls the tables. You physically stand in the middle of the floor and stomp the area around you. There is no safe place to fold your clothes. You lay it down, you will take home roaches. We stopped here on our recent long road trip to do laundry. There wasn't a change machine, but the woman running the place happily made change for us. It appeared that all of the machines were functional and it wasn't hard to find a couple that were free. The interior was clean and well maintained; which is about all one could ask of a laundromat. This is the only laundromat in Tucumcari, to my knowledge. The facility appears quite old and that includes all the washer's and dryer's, except for 4 newer looking dryer's down on the very end. The washer's are all in serious need of either being replaced or a very thorough cleaning. There is gunk that is inside under the top of the mechanism and it is gross. The entire place smells kind of icky and old. However, the machines work pretty good but several were out of order. The big load machines are pretty pricey at $5.25. The dryer's are awful. They do not dry well and one must put many quarter's in to get the clothes dry. I usually ran them a couple times and then took the clothes home to dry. The people who work at this facility are really nice. The one lady appeared a bit unfriendly at first but found out she is going thru some really hard times at home, so that was why. I spoke with her and now I understand why. She is super nice also and I wish her the best with her problems. If all the machines in the laundromat were replaced this would be an excellent laundromat. read more
