What you need to expect sending your child to this school:
*Disappointment in faculty and students alike.
*Loss of hope for a proper education.
*The possibility you may never see them again.
This school completely disregards safety for any and all students. The faculty is too focused with maintaining the social order of the 1950s. The staff spends more time allowing every minority (LGBT, Black, Mexican, Asian, etc...) to be punished for existing. The security guard, Todd, would rather punish those being bullied rather than do his job and maintain peace. He has a record of victim-blaming, pushing for punishment of those who are being bullied as opposed to punishing those responsible for the suffering.
This school is hell, a shithole to the highest degree. Infested with guns and drugs, every student gets exposed to the worst of humanity before they even have a chance to experience the world itself. With a bomb threat nearly every month, your child will become more educated in bomb/gun maneuvers instead of actual life skills.
This next paragraph will be specifically referring to the events of April 21st, 2022. Around noon of April 21st, the principal would go over the speaker system urging all students to immediately run into classrooms and lock all doors. Students stuck in the cafeteria were panicking as they were isolated from the rest of the school with no information. All hell breaks loose. Students trample each other gunning for the exits. What's left behind is a lunch room filled with backpacks, flung food, shattered glass, and other various items. An unknown number of students within the hundreds had hopped the fence to escape from the the threat that was still unidentified. At this time, I, like other students, was huddled into a corner of a classroom, panting thinking that I would be dead before 1PM. I survived, but the scars aren't physical. The school tried to put a bandaid on a bullet hole. The school blamed the students who hopped the fence, and threatened detention on those who fled. After receiving backlash, the school issued an apology shifting the blame from the students. Did the principal, Brittany Sutton ever apologize for this? NOPE. She refused to take ANY blame in the entire situation. While this was a one-off where an event occurred, there are twenty threats that are never enacted. The question is as such: With the increasing incidents of gun violence in the United States, how are students to know if the threat is real or not?
Will you wake up one day not knowing if you'll see your child for the last time?
Never send your children to this school. There are not enough negative words to describe this hellacious, nightmarish, cesspool of hatred and ignorance.
The staff should be immediately fired because of their lack of care for the students.
The school should be condemned due to its horrible effect it's had on Anthem, Arizona as a whole.
Every student who was unlucky enough to come in contact with this "campus" should receive financial and therapeutic compensation to make up for the formidable trauma that has no doubt been caused by this lackluster, miserable excuse of a high school.
If you can, send you students somewhere else. The convenience may not be worth the risk you're putting your child in by sending them to this death trap with a sorry excuse for staff.
