Of the two watches I brought in to have fitted with new batteries (€40 value), one was returned with a deep gauge in the watch face that was not there before. Having brought it to the attention of the sales assistant I was told that initially they would accept responsibility for the damage and repair the watch without charge, I was then contacted by another staff member and told that offer would not be up held. I am enraged by what I consider negligence and lack of customer care. I'll be taking business to Weirs or another specialist in repairs and suggest you do the same.

One handy service of this shop that you woudl expect anyway is the strap and battery relacing and repairing. i always think that watch makers must have made their watches intentionally imposible to open just so that you would have to bring your watch in to a place like this so that they can open your watch for you to replace your battery!

The Watch Shop may not have a fancy name or elegant decor, but it is conveniently located in the Ilac Centre and really is good, timely, and cheap. And friendly, too. Just what I look for when I need a new watch battery. (I can't speak to purchasing a watch here - although they look to have quite a range, as well as a number of watch bands.) My husband and I have had them replace batteries in several of our watches (of varying brands and value) and are satisfied repeat customers. The last time we were in, I was just asking the jeweller when I should pick up my watch, as she changed my battery and handed it back to me with a smile. I love that a place that fixes timepieces values MY time. I may not be able to turn back the clock, but I will be turning to The Watch Shop time after time(!).

When I observed that surely I was entitled to some sort of warranty, the gentleman helping me left me standing there and went inside for what seemed to me to be an eternity. After a while, realising I was not going anywhere, he came back to ask me to leave the shop. I was rather surprised and passively submitted to his command. But after a while I decided to go back just to state I meant to create no trouble for him (not over 15 euro anyway) but thought that that was a very unfair way of dealing with customers.. I was then sarcastically ridiculed about my sense of fairness. So I just left him expressing what I thought about his sense of honesty. Very strange.

All other shops were asking €10 for a tiny 377 type of battery for my old simple watch that 15 years ago cost me €22. This is insane! Anyway, went through several shops in city centre until I found this helpful simple shop. They sold me battery for €5 without bargaining. I'd say could paid maybe €3-4, but that's fine. They have to to living as well, don't they? As I said, pop in there, if you need anything small done. They do more stuff that I written.

They even sell an assortment of random items like zippo lighters. I'm giving them 4 stars for the great job they did engraving my knives. For about 5 euro each, I had 1/2 dozen knives perfectly engraved in a nice scripture (you can pick from a large assortment of fonts). Major points for doing the engraving while I waited (took less than 20 minutes). I researched a few jewelers and they all wanted 1 to 2 days to do the same type engraving.
