You I don't know if I'm doing the right thing but boy I know our medical system is a mess. I…read morereally feel for all the doctors nurses and office Honestly, I I wanted to be a surgeon, but my poor health didn't that I've been intoGrove Street a few times. I live in the Midland panic machine area and I lost my doctor. She retired from practice and she was wonderful. I can't find a new doctor. I have I'm 55 years old. I have a lot of medical issues and I have an daughter be around for for a while. She also needs a doctor for medical attention. She's due for shots and anyway I Went in and as usual, had a different doctor and the attitude of the staff seem like an annoyed to be there annoyed to be having to deal with us. I did not feel that he cared. I drove all the way down from Midland because I needed help. so I went to a walk-in clinic and I know one thing at a time, but I have a lot to deal with and he looked at me and said you have to go to your family doctor to get your prescriptions. I can't fill it. I can't this is walk-in clinic. We don't do that. We don't give refills and we're walk-in clinic again. We don't do referrals yet they already had. The definition of a walk-in clinic I thought it was a place that took people and helped guided them in the right direction when they didn't have a anywhere else to go. I came down for help and I was treated I left in daughter asked me why the doctor didn't like me and was so mean to me. It felt like I was on a grocery scanner with my health card on the way out I understand things are bad, but it was very uncomfortable thing I was in tears and then I had a full-blown panic attack and I had to wait to drive my eight-year-old was there and she saw it and she didn't understand and I couldn't answer for her. I couldn't tell her why he was so angry. Why are you so mean why I was so nothing to him the patient needs his help that needs his guidance and I was just frustrated at the door. I was less than a number and I don't understand it. It was very cruel. It was very awkward. It was very unprofessional. I loved feeling horrible and I know it's in the middle of the night. It's like three in the morning and I can't sleep and I had to leave this review because I just couldn't believe it. I'm so shocked. I'm so sad. I feel so hopeless. I understand that things are bad, but that doctor didn't care and I think it's retirement time for him when you stop caring about the people that you're supposed to be there to help and look at them as if they're nothing and tell them to go away because you can't help them. I just don't get that. What's going on with our healthcare sucks right now and I feel let down and now I gotta find out where to go because my daughter told me you can't go back there mommy that's not right eight years old what's going on? it must be so horrible for the doctors and nurses with medical in this country but and we're going through things too because of it and we need help if I had gone and become a surgeon maybe I would've gotten more respect when I I went to see him it was just horrible and I had to get it out. I had to share it because it was wrong. I went for help and I left feeling so much worse which is affecting my health so much more. I don't understand it wouldn't listen. He insisted that I had a family doctor and I told him three times. I just got felt like nobody I feel like a nuisance and annoyance to him and it wasn't much better at the desk out front. I'll tell you very uncomfortable experience now. I've gotta find somewhere else to go probably a longer distance. Shame on you. Shame on you grow Street walk-in clinic.

If I could rate this office a zero or in the negatives I would! Worst experience I have had with a…read moredoctor's office in my entire life. This review is based on the office staff alone, didn't even get to once meet the doctor.Unfortunately in May of this year my family physician suffered a stroke and was no longer in practice. We originally used to live in Woodbridge and moved to Bradford a few years ago.In this time my children's pediatrician moved practices to downtown Toronto and it wasn't feasible for us to see him. I was now looking for a family physician for the four of us, my husband, myself and my two children. I called the Family Health Centre in Bradford in June and the gentleman mentioned that yes Dr.Vanessa Abdel-Halim was taking new patients and I had requested that we be registered with her. He mentioned that it was a new rule in Ontario that everyone seeking a health care provider have it done through the 'Health Care Connect Program' (I've ever heard of said program in my entire life) which infact was a blatant misrepresentation of the truth. Needless to say I believed him and set off registering with the program. It was quite extensive and required a lot of information, which frankly I didn't mind because it had to do with our health care need. It turned out that my children were able to register but my husband and I needed to call the ministry of health de-enrollment line as we needed to de-enroll with our current health care provider, who as I mentioned was no longer practicing so you would assume that would be automatic. Anyways, I called yet again another number and was able to de-enroll. They mentioned the process takes about two to three weeks and that we would receive notice in the mail. A month later I finally received the letters and once again called health care connect. The then went through the extensive line of questioning again and I was told a LHIN nurse would be in contact. Between the call to health care connect and the call from the LHIN nurse I had to leave 4 sets of messages. Three different people connected with me and told me I would be enrolled. Only last week is when I received notice that I was now enrolled with Dr.Abdel-Halim. The whole process took 3 and 1/2 months. Now this is where it gets good, I called the doctor's office today, gentleman (who refuses to give names, which I find quite absurd as you are working with all my personal information I should have the right to know who has access to that) answers and I explain to him that someone had called at the end of last month to book an appointment for my children but I wanted to wait until my husband and I were enrolled a well and explained if we could now book. He mentioned that a 'meet and greet' would need to be booked first and then we could begin to see the doctor. I found this odd and requested if it were possible to book a consecutive appointment after the 'meet and greet' even if it meant we needed to go back in the waiting area and then be seen; as my husband and I work full time and my children are in school and taking work off or pulling them out two separate times would be difficult. Without any mention he puts me on a hold and this lady then takes the call. She says in this very rude tone "You need to book a meet and greet and then an appointment what part don't you understand, this is our office policy!" I said I didn't appreciate how she was speaking to me to which she says "Ya, well you were giving my admin staff a hard time." I was shocked because the only thing I did was make a humble request, not once did I get snippy or raise my voice. Anyways her attitude was take it or leave it and after some more demeaning dialogue on her part I asked what her name was, (Paula) asked if she was the manager (Yes) asked if they were governed by CPSO I assume and bid my farewell. I then consulted with a colleague as I too work in health care who mentioned that the reason that they wouldn't see me without a meet and greet was so they could bill two different codes, one for the consultation and another for the actual appointment where we received the ACTUAL health care. Regardless, I called back explained I wouldn't be moving forward with this doctor's office seeing as if this is the treatment I was getting right off the bat I could only imagine the abuse we'd receive moving forward and I wanted them to shred any personal information of mines and my family's they possessed. I mentioned that I was part of an independent review of services in Bradford and they really did fail us. Again the gentleman put me on hold without notice and again comes Paula, "I explained you can only book appointments for two people at a time which is why the delay!" (she never said this even once in our conversation.) Explained that I was highly disappointed with how I was treated and that I would pursue this further, she then asked for my phone number and I once again bid my hopefully FINAL farewell to this joke of a doctor's office!
