Was here for a Bourbon County release event(no coffee or coconut being sold, but they did have samples of that one being given out), and while I unfortunately struck out on the raffle for Barleywine/Proprietor's/Coconut Rye, it was still very well ran and a fun event. Had more than enough Bourbon County Barleywine/Proprietor's/Coconut Rye/Coffee samples for everyone who was interested, and the staff is really great here. Also could tell the beer selection appeared to be pretty decent, even though certain items I could tell were $1-2 more here than at other stores. Despite that, it's still a good place, and most of the time the prices are at least reasonable. It was my first visit here(had been meaning to visit here for a great while), and I'll definitely return in the future. Also I sorta wish they were open till at least 10pm on at minimum Friday and Saturday, but that's a minor complaint for otherwise a great store. read more

We worked with Bottles & Cans to supply the booze for our wedding at a loft space in the West Loop. When Binny's was unresponsive I turned to B & C and am so glad I did! Owner Carly worked with us to help select a number of different wines, beer and liquor. Our tasting was hands down the most fun wedding related event and we took home the leftovers to keep tasting after the official tasting. Carly helped us come up with a special cocktail and was just wonderful. Best of all, Bottles and Cans buys back everything you don't open at the price paid. The refund meant we never worried about over ordering. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Bottles and Cans. We live nearby and will be shopping here going forward. I've been coming here for about a year now and feel like I'm made friends with Joe & Carly. They are amazing people and greet their customers with smiles. I sometimes stop in to the store just to chat and catch up with them. But often, I end up walking out with something delicious. YES. i went in today, the day before thanksgiving, to pick out four mixed six packs for some friends from other regions. i had no problem scoring 24 different local beers, all of them tasty as hell! the staff was super helpful and available but also perceptive to when the customer just needed to browse. i wish i got his name but the guy working on wednesday the 27th around 1 pm deserves a shout out- i flew solo, but heard him working with a girl who had a similar situation to mine. all in all, solid shop, great selection, and oh man TAKE MY MONEY read more

An absolutely wonderful craft beer shop! They don't hoard and upsell rarities, and everyone gets a fair chance to buy even the most choice, rare brews. They have an excellent selection and it is arranged by state, which is awesome as well. Friendly, and very informative on the phone and on social media! The people who work there are so nice and knowledgeable and have recommended great wines and ale in the past! This is a beer drinking neighborhood, and Bottles and Cans services the area well. The store is relatively small in size, but has a great selection of beer, some wine and a few liquor choices (many of which are local). The owners are super nice, and quite active on social media - posting new beers that they get in stock all the time, and different tastings they are hosting. My favorite is the create-your-own-six-pack wall, which allows of my husband to get some pretty hoppy selections, and me to have my fruity beers for ladies. read more

they have san mig light! according to my filipino girlfriend, this is an anomaly. they also have just about every other beer you can think of-- if not by the case or 6-pack, individual bottles, priced individually so you can build your own 6-pack. the choices are as overwhelming as they are exciting. sadly, we did not find our beloved schlafly's (from stl), though i'm sure that's not the fault of this establishment. schlafly's needs to start exportin', yo! we would have walked right by this place if it weren't for the cute big-bulb light up letters in the window announcing "BEER." if it is beer you seek, it is beer you shall find at bottles and cans. just clap ya hands. read more

Kind of redundant, but Bottles and Cans deserves 5 stars! We heard about this place from a ton of other beer geeks and drove right past by our first time looking for it. Bottles and Cans doesn't look like a typical liquor store from the street. We were able to buy a hard to find Pipeworks bomber. Prices here are somewhat comparable to Binny's and the staff is a little more knowledgable and friendly. We will definitely be back. read more

I love this no frills, un pretentious, huge selection, little shop! Not sure what I mean by frills...it's just a nice, clean, modern looking, simply designed store, where you can see everything from every angle. Plus there's a little area in front where you can chill...while you bottles or cans chill! Either way, HUGE selection, in a perfect location because of all the BYOB restaurants, so I have frequented this place many times and always try something new. The owners are a super nice, knowledgable, couple (with the cutest baby ever) enjoyed chatting with them every time I've been in. Plus with a name like that I start singing that Beck song....Catchy. Holy banana is this place amazing. After scouring the internet and other local stores to no avail, I emailed them looking for a hard-to-find cider. Not only did they have two in stock, but they ordered another case for me. Less than a week later, I have 14 bottles of cider in my grubby little hands. Great customer service, great selection, and super nice clean store. I'll be going back again soon, even though it's a bit out of my way--totally worth the trip. hidden jem! driving buy this place, in its less than awesome neighborhood, Special Export sign illuminated, you would not think that this place has such fine selection of craft draft. This "packaged goods" store also has take-away cooler with craft offerings as well as domestics so you grab a quick one to-go before heading to your Pilsen house party. this Chicago cornerstone takes pride in Chicago brews. Most of their taps are Illinois breweries. i cant wait to take a visiting friend or tourist here to show them what Chicago hospitality is all about. All drafts were $5/6. not bad for limited run seasonals. They have a $7 creative cocktail menu with many delicious combos. All artwork is sourced from local artists. Dangerously close to our home. My husband comes here perhaps too often. They have a great selection of craft beer and prices are reasonable. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They allow you to break up a 6 pack if there is something you want to try and and you can make your own 6 pack combo as well. I would recommend Carly and Bottles & Cans to any couple who can bring in their own alcohol to their wedding! We were not pleased with our initial Binny's experience and when we heard about Bottles and Cans we reached out to Carly immediately. Our venue allowed us to bring our own alcohol and working with Carly allowed us to create our perfect beverage menu. Please note- the drink tasting with Carly was maybe the BEST part of wedding planning. Carly worked with us to find just the right wines, beer, and sprits for our wedding. We had a secret menu, wine tasting experience, dinner only wine, and bar menu and she was able to help us craft the perfect menu for all experiences. This place is so great! The hand-picked selection of craft brews is phenomenal. The owners went out of their way to find beverages you can't really find anywhere else. They also know their brews. I came in, not having any idea what I wanted and not wanting to drop a dime on something I didn't like.
