We were in Nerja for a few days as our friends got married in Maro. The staff is so engaging and on top of it. The view from the patio is perfect as is the sea breeze. The food is tasty and affordable. We are so thankful to the staff for giving us a place to gather as it's been years since we were able to all be together (I'm sorry we closed down the place both times we were there but we are thankful for your patience!). On our second visit, they brought out shots of limoncello for the group to celebrate my birthday.... then when they found out the bride and groom got married the day before, they presented them with a bottle of champagne. Who does that?! Seriously so thoughtful and added to the overall experience. Cannot thank the staff and restaurant enough.

But if you eat later, say after 9:00pm, you should be able get a table. Everything on menu looked fantastic; it was difficult deciding what to order: -FREE: Amuse-bouche...Spanish sushi! Had a unique sauce to it...lovely! -Grilled fresh asparagus in charcoal and shavings of Manchego cheese with basil oil...the amazing sauce made this the best asparagus I've ever had. -Grilled Turbot loin with orange, seafood and almonds cream..another incredible sauce! It went well with the fish, shrimp, clams and scallops. -Mediterranean Sole grilled in charcoal with black garlic alioli...no special sauce, but still delicious and cooked perfectly.. Wife was happy. -Sopa de chocolate blanco...for dessert, a green fluffy cake resting in warm melted white chocolate...creative and fabulous! -Wine...can't remember exactly, but we got a nice bottle for under €20. I don't remember the exact prices, but according to my credit card statement the entire meal was €72, which is great value considering this was nearly fine dining. Not sure if I'll ever visit Nerja again, but if I do I'm definitely dining here again. TRAVEL TIP: Don't mix this up with "Restaurante Pacomari"...I think its the same owner's casual and traditional restaurant but the food and service aren't nearly as good.

It's not much to look at but we had noticed that it seemed to draw quite a crowd of locals in the evening which always bodes well. It was a bit chilly when we dropped by so we decided to sit on one of the two small tables inside. We received a very warm and friendly welcome which is always nice quite possibly the tourist was a rare sight at this bar. There is not a great deal of choice on the wine front but they have a decent glass of house for only EUR2 and the tiny kitchen out back knocks up some very nice snacks to compliment your drink. We had a lovely grilled pork fillet which came with a little mound of well-seasoned mash, anchovies doused in vinaigrette and some very tasty squid with a shredded cabbage salad and a dollop of mayonnaise. The normal rules of one drink equals one tapas did not seem to be applying as the snackage just kept on coming .. If you are looking for a nice local vibe and wallet friendly prices then El Sibarita will suit you just fine.
