I cannot recommend Shelly Ingram. Throughout my divorce, I was fighting two battles: one against…read morethe opposing party and one against my own attorney's pressure to settle for less than I deserved. My experience was defined by two major failures in advocacy: Custody: Despite my children living with me after their mother moved out of the home, my attorney insisted I accept a 5/14 (every other weekend) schedule, claiming it was the Maryland standard. When I secured text evidence from my ex agreeing to 50/50, my attorney was hesitant to use it, stating "it might hold up in court." I ignored their advice, went to court, and the judge awarded 50/50 custody specifically citing the texts my attorney wanted to downplay. Financials: At our Pendente Lite (P&L) hearing, the judge ruled that no alimony was necessary for my ex. Despite this, when the opposing party asked for alimony again during asset division, my attorney pressured me constantly to pay it simply to reach a quick settlement. I had to act as my own advocate to stop this firm from giving away my parenting time and assets. If I had listened to their advice, I would be seeing my children significantly less and paying unnecessary support.

I wish I could leave a rating of -5!…read more In April of 2022, I hired Mr. Florian Tabaku esq, an attorney at James Crawford law firm in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, to represent me in my divorce case. My experience with Mr. Tabaku and this firm was absolutely terrible! I had to schedule regular meetings with Mr. Tabaku to make sure things were being completed in the time frame he told me they would. Either Mr. Tabaku and James Crawford law firm are way too busy or there was simply a lack of interest in my case. Mr. Tabaku frequently promised to file motions, request subpoenas and other work would be completed by certain dates and would not be delivered. I would give an additional 3-day grace period and it still would not be done so I was compelled to begin scheduling weekly meetings to make sure he is doing the things he is promising he would do by the dates he promised them. These weekly meetings added up my costs. Additionally, my father, uncle, and I had to have more than 7 meetings with Mr. Tabaku and/or Zachary Groves (Partner at James Crawford Law Firm) to address Mr. Tabaku's lack of responsiveness (disappearing for weeks at a time), late motions, and other grievances. Ironically, I was billed for these meetings as well. I would not have had to request these meetings regularly if Mr. Tabaku had simply met the expectations he set. Divorce is a very stressful event as it is. For your attorney to not meet deadlines that were promised to me and with no communication only further adds to the anxiety. My grievances with this law firm include: * Intentionally setting false expectations about my case to run up my costs * An inability or unwillingness to give me a straight answer about what kind of outcome to expect in my case * Terrible responsiveness- Phone calls or emails not being returned for up to 4 weeks at a time * Numerous mistakes made on my case then lying to cover it up * Billing me for time taken to fix his mistakes * Other unethical billing practices * Disinterest and lack of any compassion during my entire case * Continual disorganization or confusion concerning my case * An inability to remember key facts about my case despite billing many hours for "review" * Lack of trust due to numerous untruths * Completely ignoring important deadlines which cost me additional legal fees * Documents or information I have been promised that never appear then billing me for follow up * Disagreement about my bottom-line goals in the case * Deviation from what we have agreed to ask for or do without an explanation * Engaging in unnecessary actions that run up attorney fees * Repeatedly doing what he wanted instead of doing what I asked * Rude and disrespectful communication * Negligence: typos and errors in multiple documents filed As it stands, I have accumulated over $50,000 in legal fees when my case did not even make it to trial. My life has been a complete hell since this order was entered and a large part of this is due to Mr. Tabaku's overpromises, miscommunication, unjust billing practices, and pure outright negligence. Even a 100% refund would not make up for the stress and pain I have endured. Hire Florian Tabaku at James Crawford Law firm if you want your life ruined!

She was represented by two well-seasoned divorce and child custody trial lawyers with experience in national high-profile cases. After almost two years of paying my attorney, I could not afford to pay her to represent me at my child custody, child support and divorce trials. I was referred to Mr. Tabaku by my ex-lawyer after my ex-wife and her attorneys bankrupted me. Mr. Tabaku understood my trouble and agreed to represent me. The first time I met Mr. Tabaku, I immediately noticed his calm demeanor. He listened and was genuinely sympathetic. There was a quiet confidence about him that brought me peace. I was so use to complete chaos. My ex-attorney and my ex-wife's attorneys yelling and arguing every conversation. All the lies and ill feelings. Life was stressful! Mr. Tabaku changed all of that immediately. Mr. Tabaku took over my case shortly before my child support and child custody trial. I was a nervous wreck! Almost two years of paperwork behind my children and I. How on God's green earth was he going to know everything before trial? The day of the trial, Mr. Tabaku knew the LAW and we won our trial. Mr. Tabaku later got me what I wanted in the divorce too. My wife appealed the decision but Mr. Tabaku was flawless in handling the appeal as well. Never giving into the opposition's shenanigans or intimidation tactics. I thank God, I crossed paths with Mr. Tabaku. He is truly a genuine person and is committed to fight for fathers' rights! Although I would not expect anything less for mothers' rights. He is passionate about his work and clients. My children and I Thank him!

For those who have ever been through this: you know it is, without a doubt, the most stressful time of your life. I was ashamed, thoroughly depressed, and so overwhelmed- I didn't know what to do. I asked my trusty friend Google, who referred me to Mr. Tayter. Ed focuses primarily on Maryland DUI law, which keeps his fingers on the pulse of the court system. His knowledge and confidence immediately put me at ease. He didn't promise me the moon, but realistically told me how my bad situation was going to keep from getting any worse. The plan was simple: do the few things I was asked, do them on time, and let Ed handle the hard work. Because of his knowledge, insight, and experience- I have a second lease on life. Without Ed, my punishment would have been much more severe. Ed is assertive, tenacious, and most important: direct. Hell, I'd even invite him to a BBQ! If you're in trouble- don't wait. Call someone immediately. I would put my good name and reputation on the line every time to recommend Ed Tayter and his practice. If you have any questions about his work, I'd be happy to serve as a reference!

He advertised that his office is in Columbia, but I think that is only to have it look good. All of my meetings were in a dilapidated room attached to his old house. There was a cat there at least three times trying to jump on my lap and interrupting us. When I mailed a check to his Columbia office, they didn't even know that it was there. They said they don't get mail at that address. In court, when I was on the stand and being cross examined, the lawyer confused me and I gave an incorrect answer. Jac just sat there. Afterwards, I asked him why he did not object. He said something like "I heard you say something, but you mumbled". Wrong. It was through the court microphone. The judge heard me, the other lawyer heard me. Also, Jac tell the judge that he is hard of hearing an asks everyone to speak up. In my opinion my lawyer's hard of hearing caused an issue in my case. When I finally decided to drop him and get a better lawyer, he stopped returning my emails. He owed me close to $10,000 and, so far, two business days, has not returned my calls or emails. Another example: I'm going through a divorce. I made a spreadsheet with all household items and their estimated values. I told jac about it and he said it would be useful. When I showed it to my new, current lawyer, she said "No, that's not good at all. You will need a professional property appraiser to document all of the household items." She new the law. She was very quick with the correct answer. Jac....he just seemed to not know.
