My wife and I got some dessert here after we saw the castle, and it was amazing. After we ordered, my wife took a bite and told me the icing was very good. I laughed and told her all icing was the same, just sugary and usually crunchy. When I took a bite, it truly was amazing. The icing melts in your mouth and has the perfect amount of sweetness. The pastry itself was flaky, and though it didn't have much filling, it didn't need it to be truly delectable. Everything about it was perfect. I have never tasted a pastry this delicious. We only spend a day in Helsingør, and though we looked for more pastries in Copenhagen, we never found one quite as good as these. I can't wait to go to Denmark to have these again.

The ladies behind the counter were patient, kind, and, of course, spoke perfect English. You can also sit and sip coffee/tea inside the bakery, but we got our food to go.

These were so good that I had to take one of the cream and marzipan buns home for later. Don't expect a wide variety of baked goods as there were only three on offer (but stacks and stacks of those). There's a full hot drinks menu as well but a bit pricy for me. The plain cardamom bun was 26 kr and the stuffed on 48 kr. Lots of atmospheric seating, lots of people wanting to sit--be prepared to wait if you want to sit in. Worth it, though!

They offer all sorts of breads and pastries, desserts, a few salads and sandwiches, as well as hot drinks (kaffe, cafe latte, espresso) and bottled cold drinks (chocolate milk, orange juice, etc.). The interior is clean, bright, and spacious. There are six tables that can seat 3-4 and a small bar seating area that can hold 6. I love the delicious smells that waft out of Sjöholms Bageri, especially the smell of cardamom... that's when you know there's fresh KANELBULLAR (Swedish cinnamon rolls), or one of my other favs: KRÄMBULLE (custard sugar buns). The bakery is somewhat small with some bar seating along the wall & a couple of tables near the entrance. Friendly & efficient service...
