Providing Hope VA is a reputable and transparent charity organization that does more than just help…read moreveterans. They offer outstanding opportunities for community members to get involved and vacations for active duty service members and their family like myself. On the website, active duty service members can sign up for a 5 day stay in a 3,000+ sqft home with a pool and Jacuzzi absolutely free and may even receive some spending money while they are there. My wife and I (along with our two dogs) were treated to this opportunity last year. I believe we were one of the first couples to seize this opportunity and though we were apprehensive at first, now know it was completely legitimate and would LOVE to go again if they'd have us! At the time, I had been deployed 4 times back to back and in the 5 years I had been married, had been away for more than half of it. This was our first vacation together and I cannot explain how much it benefitted our marriage and my mental health. This is one of those "too good to be true" opportunities that actually exists. I've never won the lottery, but I imagine this is how it must feel. I have referred Provide Hope VA to many of my shipmates since my vacation. They are truly outstanding. That being said, I have bought a raffle ticket every time a Corvette (my dream car) has been available. The money goes towards helping veterans which is important to me, and I routinely donate through CFC. Limiting the number of donations per raffle also gives donors much better odds of winning compared to other non-veteran organizations that do similar raffles (and spend far more money). I believe Providing Hope VA covers the taxes on the prize (but don't quote me). There is also a cash option for those who are not vehicle fans. Providing Hope VA conducts their drawings live and offers several chances at smaller prizes which is incredible (and increases the odds of winning something). The drawings feel like Christmas every time they pull a ticket (which has the persons number, name, and state on it). While on vacation, I was able to see the vehicles being raffled and confirm they are very real and are exactly as they are depicted. (They have that new car smell and plastic covering! No hand-me-downs). Even though I didn't win the red or white 2020 mid-engine Corvette, knowing my money went towards a good cause run by the most genuine and kind hearted people you will meet made it worth it. I will definitely continue to donate to Providing Hope VA and encourage others to do so as well. Perhaps they will be a common name on the CFC pamphlet in the future! If you haven't donated yet, this is the place to do so. If you are in the military, I highly encourage you to take advantage of the week stay in Myrtle Beach. It's an experience that you won't forget!

The first showroom is furniture, couches, dining sets, curios and even some electronics. I found a barely or never used Ethan Allen couch and I paid $100 for it. That's a pretty amazing deal. The second, small showroom is household items. Paintings, books, vases, dishes, pots and pans, as well as linens. Seasonal items are found here, as well as CD's and other miscellaneous items. The third and final showroom is like an open warehouse with building supplies, large appliances, doors, jacuzzi's, lamps, and so much more. There are toilets, windows, doorknobs and tools. The items sold here are so inexpensive, if you keep coming back there's always a find. If you don't find what you are looking for, every week more and more donations come in. Some donations are from individuals and others are from companies. Although some items are used, they must be in resell condition. For open packaged items, always check that there are no parts missing, if they are, you may be able to pick up the part at your local hardware store. I have made purchases here, as well as donations. This store is a treasure and it is win-win for all.

If you can't keep your puppies from exposure to a deadly disease... why do you continue to adopt them out too young to be fully vaccinated? Is the best interest of the animals more important than the money? If you claim the cost of a parvo test is too much to do regularly, why would anyone return a sick dog to you first as you request? $8k per pup would clearly be too much for you... better to surrender to someone that will save them. Everyone in our group named our standup paddleboard outing as the highlight of our vacation. Our group was three adults (mom, dad, teen) and three kids (10, 9, 6). All three adults ended up paddling and so did my 10 year old daughter (very athletic, good balance and very confident). My 9 year old rode on the front of daddy's paddleboard, and my six year old rode on the front of Trent's board. Highlights: Trent had us fitted to our boards and paddles, briefed on paddling and safety and out on the river in no time. The site of the tour is beautiful and Trent shares his knowledge of the area and the wildlife. Trent is FANTASTIC with kids. My six year old was wiggly & chatty and Trent was a natural with her. He was very encouraging with my 10 year old who was growing tired toward the end of the outing. Other good stuff: Trent answers emails quickly, the online scheduling tool is easy to use, and he takes pictures of your group during your trip and emails them to you. Overall a wonderful experience! We will definitely be going again!
