I'm a travel lover. After stays all over the world, I've developed what I think is a good eye for a nice landing spot. And Bosanneth? Amazing bed & breakfast in Falmouth! It's a delightful place to stay, as my partner and I learned when we hunkered down here for three nights in late March.
Location: stellar. A quiet street just a stone's throw (and I do mean that) from Gyllyngvase Beach and the scenic coastal path. We easily hoofed it to Pendennis Castle, and central Falmouth was an easy and pleasant walk away. No need for taxis here. Various sandy beaches are nearby, and plenty of sea air. It's also just minutes by foot from the train station--though up an incline, so keep that in mind.
Bed: spotless. Our room, the Mannacles, offered a view of the sea from a comfy window bench that was dreamy. It was clean, cutely tucked up under the eaves, and the bed was super comfy. There was heating if the fog rolled in, and windows to open if it got stuffy. The downstairs sitting room was an added bonus, with a sweet little honesty bar and nice coffee table books. And hosts Clive and David are gems. They were kind and welcoming, and their dinner recommendations were spot on.
Breakfast: a daily highlight. Forget sad continental spreads where the croissant comes wrapped in plastic. These are proper, cooked-to-order plates. As someone who battles the lactose beast, I was touched to be accommodated with oat milk. You'll get coffee or tea; a full English with yummy toast, egg, mushroom, hash brown, baked bean, sausage, and bacon options (or have them all!), and a good selection of all the trimmings like fruit salad, cereal, and spreads. These are served in a lovely dining room, where our morning repast set us up perfectly for a day of Cornish exploration.
Overall, I highly recommend a visit to Bosanneth for a charming boutique retreat. A home away from home. If you find yourself contemplating coming to this quaint corner of England, do book a stay! read more
