For the past two years we rented from Freedom Homes, under the Property Manager Nick Barlett. Nick…read moreis the best property manager we have ever had the pleasure of renting from. He had excellent timing when it came to our requests for repairs, his open communication was very helpful when we needed his assistance for anything or had questions, and he upheld a high integrity when it came to the lease. He is a very humble businessman and runs his properties with strong responsibility. His maintainence vendors were very respectful of our home and willing to work out time slots for repairs in a timely manner. Our property was kept up to date with maintenance repairs (yearly) and state codes. His empathy was clearly shown during our time of financial stress, when he sent a list of community resources and county assistance programs, plus tips on how to file, to help us out. When our German Shepherd passed away, he sent out a sympathy email and gave the ok to get another dog when we were ready with no additional deposit. We truly cannot thank Nick enough for all of his help and his generosity. This rental property was not a regular rental property; it was our home. We look forward to buying a house for him in the near future.

BEWARE. Applegate employees write positive reviews about themselves online. I know this for a…read morefact. Applegate is frankly just out to take money, and do not care at all about the tenant. They have screwed me in terms of rent increases without warning, unforeseen or previously reconciled charges, and simply not acting as a professional business. They have no problem billing you for random things, or not refunding. My pet deposit of $400 was non-refundable when I moved in, and I didn't have a choice. I work throughout the week, and once they called me 3 times in 3 hours, leaving messages for me to call them and see if they can schedule an appointment. Seriously, if I don't pick up the first time, I will CALL YOU BACK. There is NO organization, system of management, or professionalism with Applegate. Not to mention they are consistently late for scheduling showing times, and it is not uncommon to have them tell you "Well, we couldn't get there because the visitor is not here." Well have the decency to call me and tell me that. Please, I write this because I care for tenant's rights. Save yourself a headache, if not a migraine, and find any other property management to go through. Even if it's an extra 5-10 minute drive, you will not regret it. Johnny

Accounting and reporting very difficult to follow; also had a number of significant "mistakes" that resulted in me being grossly overcharged. They also left me with exceptionally low quality maintenance, very long vacancy periods, poor tenant selection....All around disaster! I would really caution against using them. Keep looking - at this stage I have to think nearly any property manager would be better.

Extremely negative experience…read more First showing: no representative showed up to show us the property. We had driven over an hour to attend. Second showing: the leasing agent had not confirmed with the current tenant that a tour would be taking place. The house was locked and we were unable to view the property. They offered no alternative dates, no apology, and left immediately. Completely unprofessional, with a completely archaic scheduling system. I would give zero stars if I could.

While attempting to (politely) help resolve a dispute over a deposit they withheld, they threatened to have the police called on me. I never did get to talk to a live person at their office about the issue. Their doors are always locked and now I see why. My friend had to file a small claims action against them and deal with their attorney. Document and photograph EVERY speck of dirt and damage when you move in to one of their properties. Ironically, we settled for return of half of the deposit which is all we wanted in the first place. It does pay to take them to small claims court if you believe you are in the right and you have the documentation! You don't need an attorney and it cost about $100 to file. If they improperly withhold your deposit and you win in court, you can get double your deposit back plus your court fees.

Great location for anybody looking to live near UWRF…read more We were tired of living in dorms but still wanted to live close to campus. Campusview had a place that was even closer to my classes than the dorms. The price was reasonable for the location too. We lived there for 2 years and never had any problems. Just leave the place as clean as it is when you get it and should not have any problems. I would recommend Campusview to anybody looking to get out of the dorms and still be really close to campus.

They stated that "carpet matting," and "not moving our furniture" was damaging enough that they needed to replace the carpet. Two years of simply living in an apartment will mat the carpet regardless. They also stated that there was "dust" in every room, and therefore charged us in excess for that "damage." They went on to charge us for strands of hair found in the apartment, and a bug in one of the light fixtures that we were NOT supposed to remove. I sent a letter detailing which claims I was refuting, and they wrote back stating that the following where damages, and we continue to be charged for them. What they consider "damages," and the charges they associate with them are outrageous. They charged us for "Matted Carpet," "Dust," "a few strands of hair," and "a bug in a fixture" that we were told NOT to remove. They are taking unfair advantage of college students because they think they can get away with it.They charges us $447 for those damages and some other minor issues.

Mr. Mark Gettinger helped me in finding a great deal in Minnesota (I am living in the West Coast)…read more He also explained me in detail about the required process and paper work and prepared an offer that helped in competing with other multiple buyers and getting a right price for my new condo purchase. In addition, he communicated with the condo association and provided all required documents for set up the HOA payments on time. Moreover, he suggested to do the Mobile closing ( the notary came to my home for signing the closing paper in the closing date) which saved my time and $$$ money because I did not need to fly to Minnesota just for the closing. Mr.Mark Gettinger has provided an outstanding customer service. He commutated with my Closing company and Lender directly when I needed the information's clarification ( especially, the specific legal terminology). Furthermore, all the paper work and earning money sending were done electronically-it was so easy and accurate as well as saving a lot of my time and energy in this busy life. In Sum, the closing was done on time, and my Lender told me that they were impressed how Mr. Mark Gettinger was able to manage very professionally the condo purchase ( which is required more knowledge and documentation than purchasing a single home) and also for a Buyer who is living in the different state. I am recommending Mr. Mark Gettinger as a trustful, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and professional Real Estate Agent.

Stephanie helped us find the perfect home. Stephanie always made us feel like we were her only client, available any time there was a house to look at. She suggested we look at the area in Wisconsin across from downtown Stillwater, with the new bridge it made sense. In selling our home, Stephanie was always available for showings, open houses, and our many questions. Stephanie and Richard are very knowledgeable about their industry, the real estate differences between the two states, and how to market our home. Stephanie eased us through the many steps needed to sell and buy a home: truth & housing, mortgage certification, home inspection, radon testing and radon mitigation systems, well certification, septic inspection, title company,......the list seems endless.
