Borrocay is a large Asian restaurant that opened this past summer, located in the building that was once home to a popular Irish pub for many years.
The restaurant is very popular, as we had to wait about half an hour despite its size. It seems to attract a lot of former pub-goers, as many customers appeared to be enjoying drinks for hours. The food is delicious, especially the duck, and the skewers are notably spicy. The service is also excellent.
Borrocay sets itself apart from typical Chinese restaurants with its diverse menu--offering Filipino dishes, Thai-style skewers, and Japanese duck. However, the Shacha Beef is simply Shacha Beef, with no reference to China on the menu.
One unique feature is their hot pot area, which I don't think is available elsewhere in the area. I'll definitely be trying it next time.
They accept cards, and street parking is available. Prices are comparable to other Asian/Chinese restaurants. read more
