This train station is the end of line, so no worries about overshooting. There were a mix of express trains and local lines between the two cities and the trains were modern and ran on time. The train station is within easy walking distance of the Cruise Center, beach and promenade with bars, restaurants and shops. In the heat of summer, it was downright idyllic. Every time we passed by, there would be some form of musical entertainment in the walkway leaving the station. There weren't a lot of ticket agents about, but there were usually police officers who were able to answer our basic transportation questions. Also, very few shops at this location. Many more options at Rostock and that is where we stocked up on food and drink items for the longer train ride into Berlin.

Three staff on duty trying to help, but we ended up with one who spoke no English and looked like she had an electric shock when we asked for a Mecklenburg Lander ticket. Train then proceeded to stick around well after the departure time and we missed the connection in Rostock. Not a good start to the day. But the station was clean and tidy, well located and no stairs for no real reason.

Taking a real old timey locomotive is fun, especially for those of us who weren't raised with these, it was a great first time experience being on a train like this. But really great for all ages. Lots of older folks on the train reminiscing on old times loving being on a train like this again and the little kids got a kick out of it. It's not costly and it's a fun way to get through the mid town and not really meant for long distance travels from what I understand. Mainly just because it's small and doesn't go super fast. I only road this train for about 10-15 miles, really just wanted the experience and to get from point A to point B in a fun way. It'll be faster going by car but not as fun. A good way to see some of the countryside. I love that you can stand outside and take videos. I was in coach B I believe it was called which costs a little bit more then the back stalls as these seats were cushioned. Not sure aside from prioritized seating and a comfortable seat how much more it's worth the price difference. This was at least the information I overheard from one of the guides. Anyways, super fun experience while in Germany in these parts. Make sure you ask how they got the name Molli. Cute story. Enjoy!
