Relaxed vacation resort away from Ruegen's touristy beach towns…read more
The resort is located off the beaten path, away from the many tourists in Binz, Sellin, Baabe etc. next to the Baltic Sea and the harbor of Lauterbach.
No matter if you go with the cool pile suites, floating homes or stay on land at one of the apartments you always have scenic views over the bay and the picturesque island of Vilm.
Although the main target group is sailors the resort is well suited for families with kids as well. Our fellow guests were considerate and their kids well behaved. Im Jaich has a cute little playground on site and another one a little further at the end of a promenade along the bay.
All apartments, pile suites and floating homes have well equipped kitchens or kitchenettes, an appealing interior and linens and towels are included as well, which is still not the standard in Germany when renting vacation homes!
The historic train 'Rasender Roland' has a train station right next door and you can rent bikes, and boats on site as well.
Starting from Lauterbach is a scenic bike way that goes 16k to Baabe along less known gems on the island such as Gross Stresow and Seedorf. Instead of biking back to Lauterbach just take the historic train back to the harbor and store your bike in the bike wagon.
Im Jaich has an own restaurant "The Kormoran" that has a nice drink and beer selection and makes some good pizzas. It is located right at the bay overlooking Baltic Sea, the yacht harbor and pile suites.
A short walk away is Lauterbach harbor with more restaurants and a boat that sells fresh smoked fish daily. On the other side along the bay is Badehaus Goor a former electoral bathing house that was turned in a hotel and restaurant. From the terrace you have a scenic view over the bay as well.
