I then had to endure a string of Dreadful, awful, other local pharmacies. Cohen's chemist, the large one under the medical centre being the absolute worst anyone could ever imagine! I am a single disabled lady. with quite a large complicated list of regular monthly medications. This has been my first month with them, my prescription was ordered and collected in a very timely manner, without me needing to make 1 million phone calls. All 18 items were requested without any being missed off or left out. They were polite well mannered and extremely helpful and professional both on the phone and in person, and my medication was delivered to my door in a very timely manner with no problems what so ever. It has been 6 months, and 3 chemists since i have had a service this good, with no problems, and a chemist with staff and delivery service that rates 10/10.

There were some inconsistencies with the pricing, they seemed to have the old price labels on certain products, even for items which have been on sale for several weeks now, strangely this included Baylis and Harding hand washes which were priced at 50% higher than the actual price, but even just two or three meters away they had the correct labels (Surely they should have put the whole products from one range exactly together?) 4* - I would feel happy shopping here, although I prefer my local branch in Manchester, this branch isn't a bad alternative and is a great store in Chester town centre.

They have very unreliable self service tills and I have never seen anybody actually manning the main tills. Items that are reduced just don't scan and you need to find a staff member to sort it out which can be a real challenge. This boots doesn't do well in the morning or if it is busy. They don't seem to be able to get their staffing right. There is never enough staff to help customers at point of purchase and it really shows. Stock levels seem to be low most of the time and it means the full range is never available. They have a pharmacy and a variety of cosmetics counters in store.

They sell a really good range of underclothes, jumpers, cardigans, skirts, trousers, coats, accessories and they also have a homeware section. The home section has some good items - bedding, ornaments, towels etc. Everything is good quality but not too expensive. There are also often offers on various things - like 20% off for example. They also have discount evenings if you are registered with them - where you get 20% off everything being a cardholder. There is also a cafe - which serves a good selection of meals and snacks. The food is nice but a bit pricey. The cafe itself is nice and kept clean.

It has been owned by Debenhams since 1976, yet the store is fairly old being founded in 1780, while it doesn't seem to compare to the older department stores in London, it still is a fairly nice branch, you can enter the store through street-level or through the Grosvenor Shopping Centre. The store is pretty old and you can tell that through shopping inside, they have random sets of steps and ramps all over, so it isn't just one straight/flat level, so do be careful where you're walking to avoid tripping. They had a huge clearance sale on my visit, due to Debenhams' facing difficulties and having to close many of their stores, including this one, I still found many of their prices to be high even after the discount, I found the promotional offers to be inconsistent and it was hard to tell what item costs what as each part of the store/product range would have a different % off. The store did seem a little messy, but it did have some good products overall and it is nice to see they haven't ignored the history, it's a shame to see this store earmarked for closure as although it isn't perfect, it is and remains a nice addition to the town centre. 3*

This place really is fantastic for womens clothes - like debenhams it has all the usual brands such as Jane Norman and Oasis, and it has a great underwear section with huge variety of pretty knickers. It also has a wedding section with loads of higher quality dresses. Of course these come with a higher price tag that the high street stuff that can be found there but this is where I would come to look for something to wear for a special occasion.

The shop could do with a make over it isn't very modern or big. They chain of stores is well know. Would recommend if you need to find something for an elderly lady and cant think of where to shop.

Staff are always keen to help if you require assistance. There is also student discount of 10% available, although during certain times of the year this increases to 15%. It's not too expensive, but not the cheapest place in town if you're on a budget but it's good quality and will last for you. The shop itself is a fair size and the staff are always really helpful, I sometimes shop online too if there's something I'm after and they don't have my size in, but the staff do their best to try and accomodate you in store, but their website is great too. It's in a reasonable location in the precinct just across the way from a little cafe area which is handy for a little rest. It does get quite busy but the staff never seem flustered or too nusy to help if they possibly can.
