The current ownership status of this former british institution is the stuff of global trading.
I go here occasionally to indulge meself in good quality razors, shaving gel and the necessity to scrub up. I have plenty of Gillette razors and Wilkinson Sword and I really can't be bothered with those joyless electric contraptions.
The prices here are pretty fair and occasionally they sometimes do special deals. I don't use it as a chemist just grooming.
The staff are charming.
Curiosity made me try Harry's razors which didn't really impress me but more recently I spotted Bulldog razors with a bamboo handle: darn good razor and a strong ethical sense so it's 4 green stars.
Boots is now owned by Walgreens who tried to flog it for £7 billion last January (2022) but nobody wanted to bite but the main money men and women want a re focus on the USA and are once again pushing Walgreens to spin off its international operations as soon as possible, as they say Boots and other operations in Europe are a "distraction."
This distraction employs 53,000 folks in UK and Ireland. If it goes back on the market the British based Issa brothers might just open the cheque book this time round. read more
