I haven't been there in over a year, but there have been a few times when I have gone here to collect a prescription and they haven't been opening, so I think the opening hours must just be half days/odd opening times. Overall the pharmacist and the sales assistants have always been friendly. The waiting time is very short as there's hardly ever many people in. They also sell lots of other things such as toiletries, baby items and cosmetics. Good experience from me!

The prices are about standard compared to other chemists and obviously the prices of prescriptions is going to be the same wherever you go the personal touch you seem to get with these makes this my number one choice chemist in South Shields.

This branch of Superdrug is a rather large branch and is located in the Gateshead Metrocentre, I…read moremainly called in here to take a quick look around and buy a few drinks while in the centre. This branch is a similar size to the branch Superdrug have in Newcastle city centre, both of which I'd say are larger than average in terms of the company standards. There was a decent selection of drinks, much improved to other branches including Newcastle city centre which included Starbucks iced bottled beverages, lipton iced teas and Oasis drinks, on the 2 for £2 promotion, which considering the Starbucks drinks are £2 - £2.15 each, that's an impressive saving to get two for £2. They even have three flavours: Vanilla, Coffee (sadly those are now hard to get hold of) and mocha. The store was really busy, the staff working seemed rushed, mainly behind the tills, they didn't go out onto the shop floor and enage, the queuing system was actually handled quite well and I was served fast, especially for how big the queue was. The range for everything else in the store was okay, however I feel this store deserves at least a three star rating mainly down to the drink selection and price, making it one of the better price to get bottled drinks in the Metrocentre, and also how the queuing system was handelled and the fact the signal in the store was good, hence I was able to load up my loyalty card and discount card via mobile data made my shopping experience easier to warrant a medium level three star rating.
