This is my first and last time in Dungannon town centre. When I parked up in the town square a friendly local told me I'd an hour free and to watch for the traffic warden. I quickly learned that it would be impossible for me to spend an hour in Dungannon town centre as there's nothing at all to encourage me to do so.
This is a one horse town where even the horse left and likely a long time ago.
The staff in this store were a friendly bunch of folks and this town centre store is deceptively large, despite the narrow front door. Like most places now there's ample hand sanitizer and the floor is marked out to show two metre markings. There's protective Perspex between staff and customers.
I just wanted the luxury of a new razor and I had ample choice - Gillette and Wilkinson Sword seem to still have the market well sewn up and I opted for the former.
I took a walk around the centre and only two things were noteworthy - the smell of good coffee from a Bob & Bert's and the worst cakes and pastries I've had the misfortune to see in an alleged home bakery a few doors down. This is amongst the worst food I've seen in many years - full of cheap sugar, cheap margarines and who knows what else. Thanks but no thanks Dungannon. read more
