This Boots is compact, but it houses a pharmacy and extensive ranges of haircare, cosmetics and supplements. They have a section for natural remedies, from Bach to Aqua-Ban Natural and a selection of essential oils, and there are similar spaces for weight loss, diabetes, sun protection, sexual health, various common ailments and luxury bathing. Their Soap & Glory range is quite big, and other luxury brands like James Taylor and Covent Garden are present. They have natural makeup brushes, Tangle Teezers and Denman brushes, several Tweezerman styles, Rapidlash, OPI (the basics, not the colours), hair straighteners and quite a few middle-range perfumes (quite a bit of Dior and Yves Saint Laurent along with Nina Ricci, DKNY and the like).
Makeup brands include L'oreal, Revlon, No. 7 and the Natural Collection, and other primping is handed over to Fake Bake, St Tropez, Hawaiian Tropic and Piz Buin. They have practically one side of shelving dedicated to hair dye, too.
I've found that Boots cover most of my demands, but if you need anything else quickly you may want to drop into Superdrug down the road, who seem to cover a lot of the specialty brands this Boots doesn't. If you have a little more time, you can order products online and pick them up in store.
The staff here are polite and not overly pushy, although you may feel intimidated buying anything personal (I fully understand why the bigger branches have self-serve checkouts now). They'll always remind you to give them your Advantage card, which is a lot more than Superdrug will do with their own!
There's nothing else I can think to add, although I'd recommend going at off-peak times if you want to just pay and go - waiting in line with a mass of prescription-collectors who've joined the wrong queue is infuriating, especially when you're stood there for 10 minutes with one tube of toothpaste and the exact change for it! read more
