The museum features a 4D earthquake simulation, displays of military aircraft, vehicles, equipment and uniforms, dinosaurs, fossils and prehistoric artifacts, a theater and an observation tower. The heritage park have beautifully extensive landscaped area that have a man made river, waferfall, bridges, and water features. It also built an early 20th century town with a working gristmill and windmill, beautiful gardens, 19th century frontier settlement, 120 year old church, and old train station and depot. A lot of learning experience and knowledge will be gained from the really cool and fascinating exhibits displayed all over the property. We went with three different generations of our family and all three had a great time. (And all three generations went down the massive multi-story indoor slide!!!) The grounds are LOVELY and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day to explore all the outdoor exhibits. Our favorite indoor exhibit was the torture chamber! How fascinating!!! And the kids absolutely loved the water play on the highest level! I feel like this is a place you can visit over and over again and not see it all or have a new experience each time. Fortunately when the earthquakes occurred there was not many people living in this region and it was before technology. These are 2 things missing that would provide background and documentation to make an interesting story and museum. For $5 it is worth a quick pit stop if traveling through, a definite must if living in the region. A great walkway with viewing platform juts out from the levee for a great view of the Mississippi river next door.

Upstairs designed more for kids 8 and above. Supervision is mandatory. Lots of themed rooms for kids to learn through play. There's a garden room with big water tables. An auto shop for the car enthusiasts. A farm where you can "milk"a cow (fake cow &water). A grocery store where the kids can shop and be the cashier. A veterinarian pet shop. Fire department. Well baby check office. There are cool tubes with air that suck up handkerchiefs and tunnel above your head and shoot out from the ceiling. Musical rooms. Hair styling room. A theater room complete with a stage and curtain! There's a Lego wall. And rubber band wall to make art. A small real plane to climb in and imagine flying over fields. Really too much to list. But wow! Great entertainment for kids (and parents) of all ages. Covid19 protocol: Bathrooms were clean. Hands sanitizer was placed all over both upstairs and downstairs. Employees wore masks. Patrons were strongly recommended to wear masks, although most didn't. Staff picked up several times while we were there.. although i didn't notice any surface cleaning. Now my cooty radar was a little high, but i get that way in any type of kids play area. I made sure my kids sanitized hands after each room and we washed hands before leaving. Lots of touchable surfaces. Pre pandemic, i wouldn't think much about it, but current pandemic, I just am a little more leery. So go with that in mind. And don't come if you or anyone is sick. There was an art class going on while we were there, so there are educational opportunities here as well. The docent who met us at the door on our way out directed us to the back of the property to visit the beginnings of their statue garden. They've only got one statue so far, but it sounds like they have plans to expand. This doesn't take long to go through, but it was worth the visit.

"Old Town Arkansas" is a walkthrough display of shops and offices from the early 1800's. This is a kid friendly place with a number of interactive displays and activities. If you don't expect this to be the MET, you will not be disappointed. Yes it is a small place but I really enjoyed the visit and will follow the website to see future exhibits.
