I just move on, but was so…read moredisappointed and disheartened at my dog's first grooming after moving back to Iowa from The Groom Station in West Branch, Iowa and not hearing back from the owner in response to my disappointment, that I feel the need to do so, for whatever it is worth. Not with $20 let alone $126. Here are pics of her recent groom job yesterday. I asked that they keep her long and that didn't happen and instead even shaved her bald in sections and very uneven everywhere. She didn't even have any mats yet, but that was her excuse. The pics don't even do it justice. Update: The owner did reach out and refunded the visit. She did want me to bring my dog back in for her to see (which I initially took offense to as if she didn't believe the obvious pictures but that is not why according to her).By then it would not look exactly the same since I had to do something to try to even things out while it grew out and I didn't want to cause my dog undue stress since I was not going to have anyone else mess with her at this time.. Luckily, it will grow back and eventually be back to normal but would be hard for me to be okay with same shop even with different groomer at this point.

We get our fur children food here and if you get a large bag of food, you get a pet wash token (worth it). The owners are super kind and always great to talk to. Kailey handled Percy gently and skillfully--so much so that even though he was uncomfortable from the matted fur and had never been to a groomer before, he came out free of burrs and with his tail wagging. I don't recommend grooming emergencies, but I do recommend Yuppy Puppy! Their care and attentiveness to the comfort of the dog made what could have been frightening into an adventure. I'm not super good at balancing life's responsibilities, which means that my pups are typically matted by the time I get them to the groomer. I have to figure that makes the job tougher. This was the worst grooming experience I ever had…read more Immediately upon arriving, my dog was fearful. The groomer said this was "because she has alpha energy and the dog can tell". I thought that was weird, but dogs can get nervous so I left her anyway. I came back to pick her up and the groomer doesn't even say hello to me. Immediately she complains and reprimands me because my dog had an accident in the kennel and even shows me a picture of it. I understand that's not fun to clean, but most groomers recognize it's part of the job when you work with dogs. Then she tells me my dog was one of the most difficult clients she ever had. She said she needed another person to hold her down as she forcibly groomed her.... a dog should never be forcibly groomed! Every groomer I've seen in the past said my dog was well behaved. However they always warned me that they don't groom dogs if they are too fearful to avoid making it a traumatic experience. To top things off, I asked for 1/2 inch all over and it was left at least 2 inches long and uneven. Thankfully, I went to another groomer to fix her haircut and I was reassured my dog was well behaved and had no issues. Overall bad customer service and bad grooming standards.
