My daughter is an avid reader just like me. But unlike me, she has to have 'real' book. Whereas I won't mind to do ebook. And I've been borrowing from library. In an effort to make my youngest to read more, I started buying him book as well. But every time I bought 1 for him, she wants 1 as well... so we started thinking maybe we should look into used one. The hamburg one closed on Sunday so we decided to go to East aurora ones. My daughter so ecstatic! All the books she wants to read and cheap price. We can also bring books for credit in which she already plan to do it. The other thing I don't expect from this place was it also sell other Knick knack stuff. Also stuff like incense. We didn't have much time today so we don't explore much just a quick browse through and grab a few books for her and her brother. We'll be back for sure, there are a lot of sections I want to check. Oh they are also have section for local author which I think it's pretty cool. I must say I used to be skeptical with some small local stores. I like convenience of 'big store'. I only go to limited local stores that I know has 'good' stuff. But this month I decided to check out more locals especially to buy gifts for people. And I'm happy that I did. What a fun little bookstore to walk around! We walked by this unassuming little shop while in East Aurora and are very happy that we stopped in. Bookworm offers: (1) Nice copies of new books at prices that are competitive with other book sellers. Several well marked sections of both fiction and non-fiction. (2) Gently used copies of other books that are at very significant discounts! They also apparently will take used books in exchange for credit towards purchases of other used books in store. (3) A collection of old and collectible books to add some credibility to your personal library. In this section there's also a nice seating area. (4) Lots of fun new age type products as well as a gift shop that is tons of fun to browse through! Crystals and minerals, salt lamps, jewelry, toys, cards, some Buffalo merchandise. Very fun to explore the different nooks and crannies of the shop and discover all of the different items they have. We probably spent a good half hour to forty five minutes just browsing throughout the store and discovering new items. Will definitely return in the future when we're looking to spend a day exploring! read more

My friend has come here once or twice before and suggested that we stop here, as we were strolling around East Aurora today. I thought they were closed on Sundays but they are open every Sunday in December. (They didn't update their website or Facebook page with that information though.) This place has a lot of great things for sale, such as books, necklaces, earrings, bath bombs, salt lamps, greeting cards and many other cool things. I checked out much of the store. I bought some bath bombs for my friends daughter. She's really into them right now. They're $2.99 each or 4/$10. I bought four. I bought myself a pair of cool earrings and a book for my mom by a local author. I was excited to see that they had a section of books by local authors and the one I needed for my mom was right on top!!! This bookstore will buy your used books from you and give you a credit to use their towards their used books. My friend mentioned that to me but I have yet to do that. I read in another review that you have to spend $5 in order to pay with a credit card but that wasn't an issue for me today. I was happy to come here, since my friend wanted me to check it out. It was a good use of my time and it had many awesome items for sale. I'll definitely return. read more

Great spot to find stocking stuffers, Easter basket goodies, and things you didn't know you needed. They have a wide variety of books - children's, cook books, classics, new releases, etc.. I love that they buy gently used books and in return you get store credit to use towards your purchase of used books. For example, if they credit you $14, when you go to buy a $4 used book you can use $2 of your credit and pay the remaining 50%. Note: Credit cards can only be used for purchases over $5. The back of the store has a Vidler's-esque feel. There are all kinds of random goodies - fun little erasers, greeting cards, salt lamps, TY stuffed animals, and much more. They also have a jar of Voortmans cookies and Oreos in the back with some water. What a nice little treat! Another great part about this store is that they sometimes have book signings where you can meet local authors. They promote these events on their social media. If you happen to be at Elm St Bakery (it's just a couple shops down from the bakery) or in the EA area, take the time to check out this little bookstore. Our fam' LOVES local used bookstores. So it is a wonder that it has taken us this long to make it to Bookworm! The only reason on the delay is their hours. They are closed Sundays, and only open 9am - 6pm the rest of the week. East Aurora is a bit of a distance for us, so we usually can't get there in time on weekdays, and have a lot of Saturday commitments. But on this holiday break week, we finally made an afternoon of it and ventured to Bookworm. And I'm SO GLAD we did! The prices here on used books are A STEAL! There is a good assortment of fiction, non-fiction, YA and children's books. Everything is organized neatly by category, then author. The vast majority of titles are priced at $3 or $4, or less. Our fam' left with a box of about ten used books in this haul. Plus Bookworm has a store credit program, where you can turn in your own used books for credit towards the purchase of more used books. We will definitely be back to take advantage of this bartering system! :-D In addition to used books, there are some new books, mainly best sellers. And there is an assortment of gifts. To my great chagrin, the gifts are also priced extremely reasonably. I bought my mom a small carved stone dolphin figurine for her upcoming birthday that came with a spirit animal card explaining it's significance--just $2.98! My daughter forced me to buy her a couple mood rings, just $2.69 each. I bought a couple nice greeting cards for $2 each, too. There are many lovely decorative pieces, women's accessories, candles, soaps, wall art, novelties, school and office supplies, and bookmarks, all priced very well. Bookworm is also a mystic shop, carrying a good inventory of crystals, stones, incense, salt lamps, Tarot cards, and other related accessories and books. I have a big bank of time off stored up at my job. A perfectly good use to burn a day would be to go to Bookworm again, and enjoy another afternoon perusing the aisles and finding some bargain book and trinket treasures. If you like local used books shops and haven't made it to Bookworm yet, I highly recommend this use of time off for you too! :-D read more

This is such a wonderful little book store. New books, lightly used books. They buy books if you want to sell to them. The store is small, with nooks full of interesting little treasures, from crystals and minerals, to unique jewelry, or cool toys. There's an area to sit and read for a bit. The owners are friendly and helpful. All the worker are. We sometimes stop here after dinner with the kids, and spend a good hour just looking at all the neat things they have. Always changing.. you never know what you'll find and the prices are not jacked up, it's an affordable place to get books or gifts. I love this little place. My mom and I spent a while in here and we could have spent WAY longer! I got a cool druzy, a few crystals, and my mom got a wall hanging thingy. The prices were so amazingly good. I absolutely loved looking around here and want to come back for more crystals and other treats! They take cards now, and they even have a shop dog! And they'll "buy" used books from you too! Need I say it again: I LOVE USED BOOKSTORES! And this is one of the best ones out there. While it's not as huge as Old Editions in downtown Buffalo, it boasts a fantastic, diverse collection. The fiction collection (this is usually where you will find me) has tons of authors and lots of great books, including some recent bestsellers. The prices are spot-on. They have an exchange policy in case you're interested in swapping your books (please, will someone relieve me of my copy of "Million Little Pieces"???? gag). What sets this place apart is that they have a little gift shop in the back room. Actually, "little" is somewhat misleading. It is relatively large and has lots of quirky, random gifts. The owner is friendly and accommodating. If I recall correctly, this is cash only so make sure you stop at an ATM in advance. read more

My goal while I was in East Aurora was to make it to all of my bookmarks, and that included Bookworm. It's right next to Elm St Bakery so after I was done with my delicious breakfast sandwich, I hopped right over here. I was immediately surprised at how friendly the staff was. It's not like I'm expecting people to throw rotten tomatoes at me wherever I go, but the staff here seemed particularly joyful... as if they had just received the secret to a long and prosperous life. Yes, I got that feeling walking in here. I think it had something to do with the sign I saw (perhaps on the front door?) which offered peace and love to anyone who entered. Awww. This place is very cozy. There are two sections of the store: a main section for all the books and a second section for small gifts/wicca trinkets. They had some cute small gifts, but I was more interested in the book section. Within the small gift section, they have chairs and complimentary coffee/tea to cozy up with a good book. I loved that touch and certainly something I have never seen in a used bookstore! I loved the fact that they had a small bookcase to local authors! Nothing makes me happier than seeing local authors with a bookcase to themselves. So much Buffalonian pride! I don't really come to used bookstores with an agenda, but I generally gravitate toward the fiction section to peep the adventurous reads. Unfortunately, their fiction section seems a bit limited. There are only so many Danielle Steel and John Grisham books I can see before I go a little crazy. Besides the most popular authors there, I didn't see any titles that I had on my reading list from the past few years... I left empty-handed and a little bummed. Also, the setup is a little weird. I found myself walking around in circles a lot to try and figure out which direction the bookcases were supposed to go in. I think a little more labeling on the bookcase would help with that (as well as perhaps keeping the fiction section as one long section on the side wall). I would love to come back here though. If you have a booklover or a wicca fan in the family, this could be an easy place to get some quick gifts. read more

I'll gladly be the first to rate this place. They are independantly owned so do not expect to be walking into a Barnes and Noble. This doesn't mean they lack in the book selection - I was actually impressed, considering they are a discount and paperback exchange store. They carry many bestsellers and most every item is at least 15% off. If they do not have the book you're looking for they will order it for you and give you the 15% off! Bookworm also has a cute gift shop attached which carries a variety of gifts and home decor. A fun stop if you're roaming around East Aurora as this is very close to the shops on Main St. and Elm St. Bakery - which thanks to Yelp I will certainly be checking out this summer! read more

The Bookworn is not only used books, but a gift shop as well. New books are also available and they are willing to order anything you need. They have always been very helpful and friendly. My grandchildren love the reading area where they can relax while deciding which books they will choose.
