What kind of bookstore doesn't allow you drink your coffee and walk around? They have a huge sign stating no outside drink and will tell you leave if you walk in with a coffee. This is why they are losing to Barnes and Noble and why Amazon is putting them out of business. I LOVED this location until they tore out their cafe and made these changes. Would have loved to see the selection but got tackled at the front door for have an iced coffee like I was a toddler with an open cup and can't handle my drink with care. The rude employee stated they had an incident previously. Must of been a huge incident as I've never been to a book store that didn't allow a drink in it as most have coffee shops in them. read more

I love this bookstore! Well, I love most bookstores LOL This on is great. It has best sellers and signed copies featured right up front. There are lots of cool items that pair up with books like games and puzzles. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is easy to find what you want. They have a great bargain area and a really wide selection of genres. In this day and age where with 3 clicks on line you can get anything that you want, it is nice to be able to roam a bookstore. While I do read things on my phone and tablet, I still love holding a book. I picked up a bargain beach read and a book by one of my favorite authors that I hadn't found at home yet! Grab my nook grab a cup of coffee from Joe mugs and grab a seat in one of the huge soft arm chairs and sit and read for hours. If I could do it all day everyday I would! This place is huge compared to the Mary Esther cutoff location! There is a coffee shop inside the store where you can buy something to munch on while you read. There aren't many people out here on a Sunday but for some reason the parking lot was packed -.- If you are skeptical about buying a book, I'd recommend checking it out and buying it online (: some of the books in the store are way too overpriced. They do have great sales on random goodies. read more

This place was the highlight of our Destin Commons trip. It's kind of "hidden" near the main entrance and easily overlooked if you parked near the Bass Pro Shop. They stock a number of items that appeal to your inner nerd/geek, more so than some of the other bookstores. We bought two items but I found quite a few more I would've loved to take home. The Joe Muggs coffee shop is outstanding and the girl at the counter was very friendly and helpful: Great attitude, very willing to answer questions. Skip Starbucks... we certainly did! read more

Came in the afternoon. Went to customer service for assistance looking for a particular book (next to cashier area). No one came or acknowledged me. However, I was pushed aside by another customer and sales associate - literally. I waited. And waited. The sales associate didn't even look up at me, nor smile, nor nod her head to acknowledge that I was even there and that I would be next. The sales associate reluctantly took the customer to an area to search for her book. When the sales associate came back, she saw me, me the one who had been waiting first for so long, and she didn't even bother to ask if I needed help. She just walked right past me. Not surprising since helping the other customer seemed to be a burden. I decided to take charge and help myself. FYI the books are listed under the author's last name first. That might help you find your book since customer service seems to be a problem. They carried 3 out of the 8 books I was looking for. I am comparing this Books A Million to another. The other had superior customer service in comparison to this one. The employees just don't want to help you, they'll take your money happily at the cash register, though. Maybe a 'good riddance the customer's finally leaving kind of happiness'. Try Barnes and Noble. The only reason I didn't rate at one star is because they have a good selection to choose from. read more

I love to shop local and visit an actual bookstore so naturally I went up to the Commons to Books-A-Million when I wanted a book on Peru. I was disappointed to find a very small travel section and no travel books for Peru or any other country in central or South America. Of course the staff was apologetic but I will have to order the book on the internet. read more

Spent fifteen minutes infront of a empty counter with my family, no one responded to our calling (as there is no bell or system otherwise making them aware of our presence) and we sooner or later gave up on the apparently open but employee-less Joe's. read more
