If you're looking for authentic, traditional Mexican clothes, this is the place for you. Every…read moresingle item in this store is made in this country, none of that china nonesense in sight! I don't even have to say it, but the quality in every product is outstanding. This store is in the heart of downtown (zona centro) and it's easy to go right past it if you don't know what you're looking for, so make sure you look at the pictures above to get an idea of how it looks on the outside. The thing I thought was pretty cool, is that they sell clothes from all over the country (for those of you who don't know, almost all states have very different and specific traditional folkloric attires) This is a great place to come if you're buying gifts or souvenirs for anyone. It's not the cheesy-keychain or T-shirt type of place, it's much better

I was so excited for this experience finally I get to know more about my culture! I got to learn from one of their Mezcal brands Espino and the types of mezcales, with what food to combine them and learn how to distinguish the flavors! The experience was amazing I loved it so much. In case you want to know more about Mezcal, the origins and how to drink it this is definitely the place to stop by, they do group tastings so I totally recommend to visit to try more of the Oaxacan culture that is truly beautiful. They also have an inside store where you can find clothing and other things related to the Oaxacan culture as well as their own Craft beer which I want to try soon on my next visit! I loved it I'm going back soon.

I remember, many moons ago... when I graduated from elementary school (primaria) and secondary…read moreschool (secundaria) I came to this store to buy fabric and all the puffy stuff to have a dress made. I also came here a bunch of times to buy fabric for school dances/recitals/plays all of that fun stuff. They have tons of fabrics here, and they're good quality too. It's rather small in comparison to the other fabric stores around the city, but what matters here is quality not quantity. Another good thing about Telas Costa Azul is that it's a one-stop-shop for making dresses. I'm not that familiar with the actual names of the things you need, but things like string, patterns, pads, etc. You also have the option of purchasing an entire roll of fabric (for large parties.... or a reaaallly big puffy dress) They are open monday through sunday which is amazingly convenient. Their hours do vary though, so make sure you check out the times or give them a call to make sure they're open when you come.
