Having supported this business during lockdown by making purchases online, I was finally able to pay a visit to the shop having seen a couple of things I was interested in purchasing. Unfortunately, they didn't have the size I wanted, but the sales assistant offered the next size up - I said that I would need to take them home to try & I made my purchases. A week later I went to return my purchase as they unfortunately didn't fit, which is when I discovered that their policy is only to offer exchanges or credit notes - NO REFUNDS. I am disappointed that this wasn't made clear at the time of purchase. I clearly said that I would need to take the item home to try given that it wasn't in the size I really needed - if the sales assistant had said at that point 'are you aware of our returns policy?' - misunderstandings could have been avoided. There is a ridiculously small sign, partially obscured, resting on top of the radiator in the shop that details the returns policy for items purchased in the shop - annoyingly if I had purchased online, I was told that I could have returned the items no problem - go figure! The sign is not possible to read from the till point and should be at least as big as the sign advising you of the limits for card payments etc. I really wanted to support the local high street, but I'm afraid this has left a bit of a bitter taste & I won't be returning.

The window display is always enticing and I can never resist popping in for a browse if I'm walking past. As you walk in, there are a couple of rails of clothing, with a good but small handpicked range of dresses, tops, sweaters, blouses, skirts and trousers as well as some shoes dotted here and there and accessories such as belts and handbags. Mainly catering for ladies in their early teens to early thirties, the clothes are usually from lesser known brands rather than designer but are in the latest fresh, vibrant and trendy fashions and very reasonably priced too! I picked up a gorgeous summer dress from there last summer for just £25 and then spotted Kelly Brook wearing the same dress on TV just weeks later! Making use of every available space, the small back room has more rails of clothes, basic curtained-off fitting rooms and an area for more accessories and toiletries from brands such as Burts Bees. The two ladies that run the boutique are very friendly and on hand to help and offer advice if needed. While small, I think the boutique offers a great clothes shopping experience and fills the gap that Market Harborough previously had for affordable fashion for the younger female.

This is actually a review for the Joules Website…read more I first heard of Joules about 4 years ago when a catalogue dropped through my door for a previous (long gone) occupant and I've been a fan ever since. I like their stylish stripey tops and fitted polo shirts and love their wellie bobs (perfect for dog walking). I did have a problem with my first pair of wellibobs (like cut off wellies / jodpur boots for those who are wondering what on earth they are!), were they began to let in water after about 9 months of lightish wear. The customer service team were excellent in arranging a replacement pair without quibble and I completely salute them for this!

It's not too bad for the basics and it's OK for the odd emergency purchase when you need something standard like work wear for example, and cannot travel out of town. It also has the benefit of being quite cheap. The store is very small however so there isn't even a lot of choice. Quite a boring high street shop and the space could be used better. Maybe with an independent clothing boutique that has more unique pieces.
