This restaurant was called The Anamika until late 2011. The ownership, and name has now changed. The food is good and there are dishes on the menu that I haven't seen anywhere else, which is always nice to find. One of the dips that came with the poppadoms was a delicious red sauce which was new to me. Unfortunately, the waitress was unable to tell me what it was!
The price is very good. It only cost us £35 for 4 people, and that included 6 glasses of coke. They have different offers on each night. When we visited it was free rice or nan bread with each meal.
The only thing that lets them down is the lack of atmosphere. Bland decor and English pop music playing (why do Cumbrian Indian restaurants do that?). We were the only customers from 7 till 8.30 which made it feel a little odd! read more
