This law firm helped me with my Chapter 7 Bankruptcy filing and I am able to BREATHE now. I went…read moreto them during the most stressful time of my life when creditors were reviewing me for wage garnishment. Rather than making me feel ashamed, I was given the help and answers I needed. I looked into another big name law group in the area before this one, but I felt that my questions were not answered in full up front with the other group. What you won't get is hand holding-- they can't do the leg work for you. If you're filing bankruptcy, then it could be for a number of reasons, but you have to be diligent about providing what they need from you. If you're up against a ticking clock with creditors like I was, then I'm sure you'll be more than willing to bust your behind to get things done. Mr. McCormick's staff gives you LISTS each time you have an appointment of what to submit, what you need to accomplish, and what you should expect before the next appointment. This gave me extra reassurance that things were being taken care of and I didn't feel left in the dark. The packet of forms that they send you home after your first appointment has a sample packet attached which shows examples of how to fill every single line out. I loved that, because without it, I would have been stressed out over just the paperwork itself! My process with the paperwork side of things was pretty seamless because of this. The payment plan was in accordance with the lists/tasks (each payment coincided with the next step of the process pretty much). There were a few minor slips in communication, hence the four stars, but nothing major. I imagine they work with quite a few clients so human errors can occur. As soon as I addressed any of the issues they were quick to correct and/or apologize. Assess your level of comfort during your consultation; gauge your level of trust with the attorney. Complete things in a timely manner and fill them out correctly and they'll take care of you, I promise. Trust me, you have to do your part and act quickly because everything else rides on that. The part that almost had me in tears (happy tears) was at my 341 hearing. I noticed plenty of people leaving the hearing only nodding or shaking hands with their attorney. After I spoke in front of the trustee, the attorney walked out with me and sat me down to actually talk to me about what to expect next and give advice on how to handle my credit reports and other issues related to my personal case.

Well I'm in the Automotive business of customer service, and have been for over 17 years. I was…read moreinvolved in a three car accident that broke 4 ribs, caused a concussion, and punctured my lung. When I departed Virginia Beach General Hospital, the Doctor referred me to VA Spine Care, and to a Lawyer in Downtown Norfolk. By this time, my family in showing their care recommended Attorney Sherman C. Smith. After talking with the Norfolk Lawyer, and setting an appointment, I called Attorney Sherman C. Smith. My family had forwarded the accident pictures to him. After talking with Attorney Sherman C. Smith I realized through his demeanor that he was very attentive, and showed through his words that he really wanted to help me. I called the Norfolk lawyer back and cancelled my appointment. I agreed to allow Attorney Sherman C. Smith to represent me. After telling him that I was injured with 4 broken ribs, and without transportation, he arranged to come from Hampton, to my home in Norfolk to visit me, and to get my deposition. That right there was convincing enough for me to let me know that this person has great customer service skills, and made me feel valued throughout my injury. I felt like he cared to assist me, and that I was not just another client number. This is how Attorney Sherman C. Smith made me feel. After having our case postponed in January 2016 by the first Judge, Attorney Sherman C. Smith made several keen observations about the State Trooper. He noticed a pattern that showed a lack of integrity. This was vital in us returning back to court February 2016. He used that wisdom to navigate his way through to a successful decision. It was though he was floating like a butterfly and stinging like a bee. Even the Judge commended him for "great lawyering". Attorney Sherman C. Smith was able to get the Judge to move to strike my case, and to dismiss the charge, which now has opened the door for my full compensation from having been T-boned by the third driver. Masterful! Upon the decision by the Judge, the entire Court marveled at the skill by which Attorney Sherman C. Smith operated his lawyering in the Court. I was very impressed, and glad that Attorney Sherman C. Smith was recommended by my family. With the skill he has shown, I have complete confidence that my financial compensation from his aggressive pursuit of the Insurance companies will garner my complete compensation from this tragic accident. Stay tuned, for the rest of this story. Attorney Sherman C. Smith has proven to be worthy of his recommendation. Sincerely Carl Dyson

I enlisted in the United States Navy as a teenager young and naïve. I was a good soldier and gave it my all. I was called at 4.0 soldier because of my evil and I was also decorated. Unfortunately, during the first golf war, I was seriously injured overseas and brought back to the United States for treatment. I was given a series of nerve blocks 4 to 5 a week for 90 days. Every time needing to be sedated with heavy anesthesia. Today the doctors say this type of procedure should've only been performed three times a year. I was also heavily medicated. My grandmother, Author that raised me had passed away and I wanted to go to her funeral. 2 MP's at a commissary try to detain me and I struck them both I left the scene went UA and was also charged with not following orders. After my grandmother's funeral, when I turned myself, and they threw me in the break for 90 days, gave me a Special Court, Marshall, other than honorable discharge and took away all my benefits. Military attorney Dan Conway has helped me pro bono to apply for Justice in getting my discharge up, upgraded to honorable. I was a good soldier and being overmedicated led to misconduct that cost my career. This man has gone above and beyond on only to help me but many other veterans in similar situations. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

He came highly recommended and did not disappoint. From the very first phone conversation, Mr. Hockenberry has been attentive, responsive, and deeply engaged. He answers every phone call, replies to every email, and never leaves me in the dark about the status of the appeal process. His knowledge of the military justice system is truly remarkable. What stands out most is his ability to translate the complexities of the court-martial appeal process into clear and understandable terms, something I greatly appreciated as a parent navigating an overwhelming and emotional situation. Mr. Hockenberry never made me feel like "just a family member" he made sure my voice was heard, my questions were answered, and my concerns were respected. Above all, he is honest. He never made false promises, but he always provided hope grounded in law, facts, and preparation. His confidence and professionalism gave me strength during some of the darkest days of this journey. If you are looking for an attorney who is not only skilled in military law but also deeply human in his approach, Scott Hockenberry is that attorney.
