It's been owned and operated by the Zueller family since before my country (USA) even existed! Mrs. Zueller was so friendly and knowledgeable, and gave us a personal tour. It's small and intimate, so if you're looking for big expensive touristy place, go elsewhere. But if you're looking to experience a genuine 250 year old family winery, and buy bottles of amazing (mostly organic) wine for 6-8 euros, this is your place! Make sure you have a French speaker in your group, this is the real deal and people working the vinyards and winery don't have time to learn English.

We found it be a nice opportunity to see the countryside. The tour was given by the adult daughter of the winery's owner. She was very knowledgeable and warm, while taking time to answering all of our questions. We started off in the wine cellar and ended upstairs tasting several of their wines. Unlike American tours, we sat in small comfortable tables, with both water and pretzels to cleanse our palates. Very cliché and relaxing We came away very impressed, along with a few bottles and some pâté for our trip.

We were given a tour of the cellar where we got to see all the old wine barrels and learned about how long the wine takes to make, how the barrels are cleaned and how the vines grew. Also learned how the bubbles are added to make the brut blanc (they use the champagne process) and how the yeast is removed. Very nice tour. The host who gave us the presentation was one of the daughters of the family estate.

Jean Rapp is a small family winery that offers a full complement of Alsatian wines. They have a…read morenice Crement d'Alsace, as well as some lesser known white varieties found only in the region. Service here is excellent, yet parking along the busy street can be a bit tricky. As it is a family winery, there are children's toys all over the place. Definitely more homey than elegant. The wines are worth a try. Their Crement d'Alsace was my favourite.
