What a great winery!…read more I came here as a part of a group tour. I experienced... 1. Great wines. I loved their Rieslings, Gewürztraminer and Muscat the best. 2. Exceptional and gracious service during the wine tasting. 3. Genuine passion. Here you will meet the winemaker who does everything from prune vines to clean the large wooden barrels. Of several visits, this was my favourite. I highly recommend this as a stop on your visit to the Alsace Wine Road.

The tram stop is on line D, Porte de l'hôpital, the best way is to use Google maps. The entrance is free, you can just read the signs or get the audio for 3 Euros. They also offer a selection of wines for sale.

Once you open the door and you're hit with the aroma of a musty basement, you know you're in the right place! The cellar is free to tour but they also offer private experiences if you're interested. One was being set up while we were there and it seemed like pastries and wine, where I presume someone would then talk about the cave. Just inside the doorway from the store, on the right, there's a very old tunnel that was used to supply military with food and supplies. It's damp, dark, and very cool. It's a walk walk through. To the right are some barrels that were given as gifts, one to King Louis XVI, as well as a wine press from centuries ago. To the left is a long (ish) row of barrels leading to a gated section, a barrel dated 1472 and some information about it. If you're a fan of wine or just want to see a really old wine cellar, I'd recommend this. If for no other reason, it's free and you can say you did it!

This is a lovely little shop with local wine, eaux-de-vie, liqueurs, and Alsatian gourmet items…read more The even have souvenir knickknacks. You can taste the local wines and distilled spirits. The service is friendly. We were welcomed in, toured around the store, and then did tasting. The proprietor even offered to keep our purchases until the next day so we would not have to leave them in the car overnight or lug them up to the hotel room. He came home with wonderful jams, wines, and even a handcrafted wood and metal birdhouse.

André Durrman is a quirky, fun winery with great wines…read more André himself led a tasting I enjoyed on a recent visit. You can sense his enthusiasm for wine, as well as for being a good steward of the environment. The wines here are very good. I loved the Sylvaner, the Riesling and the Gewurtztraminer I tried. Beyond what you might expect, the winery also attempts new wines/approaches to wine (unfiltered offerings, etc) that are admirable.

We stopped by with a group of 8, and were immediately made to feel welcome as we entered the quaint spot. While they did not have the first couple of wines we chose, they did come through with the others that we chose and then paired that with some amazing cheese. While French is the language of the land, we were quickly laughing with the locals as we tried to recall our college French and were happy to see that what we ordered was what appeared on our table! Total per person was very reasonable (about $20 Euro per person). The room is divided up into some comfortable seating areas with leather couches and bookcases, and they also have tables and chairs (including one large table for 10) if you want to gather round to talk. And the bathrooms? Super clean and pleasant. A lucky find for sure!

It's a great wine bar/store, where the owners know their wines really well…read more Tucked away from the city center brouhaha in a small square, this store boasts one of the best selections of wines in downtown Strasbourg. While it doesn't serve any real food - just cheese and charcuterie boards, the wine selection and the interior is well worth the stop, just as the advice of the owners if you are seeking to purchase a good bottle of wine, consistent with your tase and ranging anywhere from 10 to 1000 euros. All in all, that's a great place with nice and sometimes spaced-out owners, that I can but recommend, both for the quality of wines and the coziness.

The guide for my visit (Jeremy) was knowledgeable and gave helpful insights into the wine and winery. The owner stopped by to greet the tour guests as well. The Grand Cru Riesling was excellent, as was the Gewürztraminer. My only regret was not finding a way to calculate the Gewurtztraminer into my "take home" stash. (After 3 more stops, the Gewurtztraminer here still stood out as the best of my tour). While my tasting here was not as thorough or generous as some other stops, the wine and the tour guide were excellent. The winery has a beautiful, modern tasting room that is good for small groups.

We came to Vins d'Alsace Robert Blanck as part of a Viking Rhein River Cruise excursion…read more Our bus trip from the boat took about 25 mins and our coach was upscale and very modern. We found it be a nice opportunity to see the countryside. The tour was given by the adult daughter of the winery's owner. She was very knowledgeable and warm, while taking time to answering all of our questions. We started off in the wine cellar and ended upstairs tasting several of their wines. Unlike American tours, we sat in small comfortable tables, with both water and pretzels to cleanse our palates. Very cliché and relaxing We came away very impressed, along with a few bottles and some pâté for our trip.

Lovely 16th generation family owned vineyard. This estate makes only white wine and brut blanc…read more (you can't call it "champagne " unless it's from that region of France). We were given a tour of the cellar where we got to see all the old wine barrels and learned about how long the wine takes to make, how the barrels are cleaned and how the vines grew. Also learned how the bubbles are added to make the brut blanc (they use the champagne process) and how the yeast is removed. Very nice tour. The host who gave us the presentation was one of the daughters of the family estate.
