Can't say enough good things about this gym. I started going a little over a month ago and I walked…read morein there with so many pain issues in my low back, mid back, upper back and neck that I'd been dealing with for about 15 years. The disuse of the muscles due to pain has caused a lot of problems with my shoulders, hips and plenty more. I've spent a fortune over the years going to massage, PT and Chiropractic only to ever get temporary relief. I went to The Club with hopes of developing long lasting strength and stability. During my initial consultation the owner said right off the bat that Jesse was the right fit for me. His training and credentials were impressive and we got started right away. Turns out he was right. Based off the intake and symptoms I described, Jesse knew exactly what to focus on and developed an individualized plan to fit my needs all the while being aware of my limitations. I've been training for a little over a month now and I couldn't be happier where things are at. There was a pain between my shoulder blades that I thought would always be there that doesn't hurt at all. My low back is more stable and is holding up longer and longer. Im doing exercises I never thought myself to be able. For the first time in my life I feel hopeful that having a ton of pain might not be a lifelong issue which every doctor and specialist has told me it would be. Aside from my personal experiences...the gym itself is great. The equipment and machines are all kept in great condition. The gym isn't very big but they have everything you need and it's perfect for a personal training gym. I've never had to wait for a machine or piece of equipment. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming. And I think that covers everything. Like I said...only good things to say about this gym. Worth every penny.

I have been going to The Club almost since it opened, although not consistently until about 2 years…read moreago. Since that time I have been working with Steven and he has changed my life. With his guidance and training, I no longer am getting cortisone shots in both hips, am much stronger and leaner than women much younger than myself. Everyone is professional and I never have any hesitation about training with anyone else in the event Steven is not available. Boot camp on Saturdays are complimentary for anyone, member or not, and the weekends just wouldn't be the same without it!

My relationship with GRIT CITY FITNESS AND PERFORMANCE is a life changer…read more I have never felt like I was part of a fitness community before coming here. I have never felt like my effort was meet with results before coming here. I am 37 years old, and this year is the first time I've understood my body's needs and how to give it the best possible circumstances for health and wellness. I use Jeff's virtual Team Training, Serena's Superhero You and nutritional coaching. I'm forty weeks in to recording of nutrition and I don't ever want to stop habits, nor my relationship with Grit. The virtual training is more than just watching a workout. You can workout live with the coaches... and Jeff is ridiculously good and concise with remembering/recommending substitute movements for your limitations or injuries, and very resourceful with helping you utilize the objects you already have in your home. I have many many many public Facebook posts about this place if you're still on the fence about investing in yourself. Oh - and the generous outpouring of support and communication through several channels (fb,insta, email etc) is 24/7. They have really really found a way to personalize your health, while still keeping you part of the group.

I joined roughly two weeks ago, and have not regretted it since. I love the feeling of camaraderie…read moreand the intense workouts. It helps that the workouts are only 30 minutes a day except for the weekends which are roughly 45 minutes are so. The gym is spacious and clean with all working equipment. I found my people here at CrossFit Gig Harbor! I started my CrossFit journey about 4 years ago here at CrossFit Gig Harbor. At first I was intimidated by how strong and athletic everyone was and wasn't sure about myself. But the coaches and members were so welcoming! The coaches knew exactly how to evaluate where I was in my athletic abilities. They modified the workouts to fit where I was and made sure to remind me that every single person starts at a different place and you set goals for yourself and can't possibly compare yourself to others. The members/community are so amazing! Everyone was, and is, so positive and supportive. They're all there to pump you up and cheer you on! I could be having a bad day and not feeling my workouts, but that doesn't matter to anyone. You show up, put in your work, and give it everything you've got in that moment. I've set goals for myself and have learned that advanced movements take time. They emphasize the importance of doing a movement correctly for your own safety and that of others. But this also helps you to be able to advance and be better than you were the day before. It's not about how much weight you can throw up or down if you're in pain because you're doing it poorly. It's about being smart and safe while gaining strength at the same time. About 2 years into my journey, I became pregnant. I just started to feel like I was really getting somewhere and gaining so much strength and then had to start dialing it back for the safety of our little guy. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable in training pregnant women. Even thought I felt as though I could do 'more', they knew what was best and guided me accordingly, while ensuring that any instruction from my doctor would also be followed. I was able to workout 4 days a week throughout my pregnancy. I ended up putting on 35 total pounds. My delivery didn't come close to the birth plan I had set forth and ended with an emergency c-section. I thought this would delay my return to the gym, but it didn't. I started back 4 weeks later with just 'moving'. No weights, no strain, just showing up to be back to reality a little. I needed this for my own sanity to help overcome some postpartum depression. As new parents, my husband and I were a little lost. The community here at CrossFit Gig Harbor was there to help us and let us know that we were doing great as parents! I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight 8 weeks later. I'm 13 months postpartum and in better shape now than I was pre-pregnancy. The programming and support of this community is amazing! I look forward to seeing every one of their smiling faces. I am thankful for David and the community he has brought together. If you are unsure about CrossFit or are scared to try something new and on your own, don't be. Come join us! Sweat, have fun, get strong, and make new friends! You just need to walk in the door and you've made the first step of many more to come!
