I had been dealing with fertility issues for the last year, and was experiencing unbearable stress and anxiety. After just one visit with Kuan I felt the tightness in my chest going away and my anxiety disappearing. After just five visits I was pregnant. :) I continue to see Kuan every week. The experience is always very calming, and restful, and balancing. The office is always impeccably clean and welcoming. They have a huge selection of books in the waiting room that you can borrow on a weekly basis. They have bottled water. They have soothing relaxation music in all the rooms. The treatment beds are clean, comfortable, and heated. Kuan himself could not be any nicer or more accommodating. He starts each visit discussing your current state and makes adjustments to your treatment as necessary. Each acupuncture session also includes an acupressure massage (which is wonderful.) You don't have to be "into" every principle of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Qi, energy meridians, etc in order to feel the effectiveness of acupuncture. In fact, I started my visits as a pretty big skeptic. But whatever Kuan does, works! He helped relieve my stress and made me feel more balanced. And most importantly: he helped me get pregnant! I'm continuing to see him once a week and I look forward to every visit. My best friend has also started going to Tai Chi Acupuncture & Wellness Center and she also loves it. There were two old looking couches that were placed in a weird way that didn't feel welcoming or like it flowed. They had little cubbies with locks to put our stuff in it, rest room facilities thats were clean, but again no spa like zen feeling. The salt room itself was cool. They had tranquil music playing. You walk with booties that they give you because there is salt on the ground. The walks and light fixtures were also covered in salt, and there is a cent that was said to blow Himalayan salt into the room. You go in with your regular clothes, which I thought was strange. I know the benefits cone with inhaling it, but I also thought it gets absorbed in through your pores as well. I have only been to one other salt room at a spa and we were in our robes. After 10 minutes of the salt blowing in, my friend and I felt a difference. It definitely did something, my head personally was feeling fuzzy 20 minutes into it and for about 30 minutes after I left. I didn't feel bad, I'm assuming its from all the salt WI was breathing in. The salt room itself is definitely zen. Interesting experience, I would try a different salt room next time.
