This herniation was the exact same problem my teammate had before Doc Steve fixed him. Going to Doc Steve was one of the best decision I have ever made in my life. After recent visits to my collegiate physical therapist, he ended up aggravating my herniation to the point where I couldn't walk to and from school let alone get in and out of bed or even able to put my own socks on. I was to the point where I was being told that the only fix for this would be to get surgery done on my back (at 24yrs of age in my junior year of college) and that the surgery would only temporarily fix this problem and that I would have it for the rest of my life. Doc Steve talked me out of getting surgery and told me that its not going to be an easy process but I will get you back to where you want to be and able to work, exercise and play hockey again. He COMPLETELY followed through on that promise and after a few months I was able to go home and fully partake in my summer job of researching alaskan king salmon. When I came back for school he kept on working with me and I was able to play every game of my senior year and I had no set backs. I would not be where I am today without Doc Steve's, Matt's, & Jeff's impacts on my life and I am thoroughly grateful for everything that they have done for me. I recently had to pack out a 1,000 pound animal after hunting this fall and I was able to get every piece of that animal out with no pain in my back or legs and I can absolutely thank Doc Steve for that. He is the real deal when it comes to getting things done and is very straight forward with what needs to be done. I would recommend anyone who is going through nagging pain or contemplating getting surgery like I was told to talk to Doc Steve first and see what he can do for you. It was worth it for me and can also be for you too.

I did that a few times and though I believe massages are good for you, it wasn't helping with the problem. I decided to try a chiropractor today. If you have ever seen one of those TikTok videos that have people getting adjusted and start laughing...yep, that was me today I already feel WAY better, an improved range of motion, my hands come down towards my sides better, and that discomfort isn't nearly as bad. Dr Komal Khattak was fantastic. She took the time to examine me, she immediately identified my trouble areas (some I knew, some I didn't know), as we went through the adjustments she took the time to explain things to me, and was super pleasant to work with. I am anxiously looking forward towards my next appointment on Thursday.

I have Medicare so I'll pay out of pocket because I need an adjustment ASAP. No one was there even though supposedly someone was scheduled to be there. Ok.... I came back later and someone was there but then they gave me some song and dance about reporting to Medicare. So either they do or don't deal with insurance. It's not clear and I am not about to deal with this ambiguity.

However, once I got there, he didn't seem to know what to do with me. He asked me if I could get on my stomach... uh, no. Anyone with a single ounce of experience working with pregnant patients should know I can't get on my stomach on a regular bench. He then said, "hmmm, I'll have get creative," which was another mark that he didn't know what to do with pregnant patients! Even though my first experience was pretty much useless, I was in so much pain and desperate so I decided to give this place a second chance. However, the second time was even worse. I was first put on a heat pad for about 15 minutes while he worked on another patient, and then seen by the chiropractor for a grand total of 7 minutes while he was bopping around 2 other patients at the same time. During my 40 minutes in the office, the chiropractor saw FOUR patients total. Clearly not spending that much time with each patient. Office staff and chiropractor are friendly people, but it's clear they double/triple/quadruple book in the same time slots intentionally. Definitely not worth the $ to be seen for less than 10 minutes.

He just fixes it, and you come back when you feel like you need an adjustment again. I can count on one hand the number of times he's told me to come back for a follow up. One of those times I had injured my back so badly I couldn't stand up all the way. I'm a strength athlete and rough on my body; with any other chiropractor I would have ended up in an MRI machine and a surgeon's office by now. A few things for your first visit: He doesn't take insurance. Initial visit/assessment (I believe) is $90, visits are $40 thereafter. Ned's a little strange, but brilliant. I heartily recommend him to anyone who feels like they aren't making progress with their current chiropractor, anyone who's woken up with a sore back and crick in their neck for the past few years, or anyone that wants to know what "normal" and "properly aligned" feels like. Don't too many of you go, though. I still want to be able to get a walk-in appointment.

Ever since the accident the major pain levels retured but also for the first time involved in addition to the left side of my body but now involved my right side including the right leg. In January I was advised that I needed additional surgery by the surgeon and pain management doctors. I really do not want additioal surgery because the first wasn't so greate. I asked for alternate pain relief but what was suggested was more drugs, PT, Tens, and a permant Implant and even acupuncture. Three weeks ago ehen the pain was so bad, nothing helped. I remembered a new chiropactic center was about a 1/2 mile away. In desperate condition, I ventured to the Center. I met Dr. Steven R. Karp there and within the hour he and his staff had reports from hospitals and doctors. With that information within the hour I had absolute pain relief. When I entered my house, my wife was shocked that I was standing straight and told her that my pain was gone. Dr. Karp and I have been working together for three weeks and he is my hero. Life is bearable and while I couldnot even walk to my mailbox, the other night I went to a movie for the first time in years because I was never able to sit that long or even walk from the parking lot to the movie house. ITBS and tendonitis are one of the most common overuse injuries among runners. Dr. Karp was very helpful and very professional. He explained to me in detail the treatment of the electric muscle stim for me to understand it and how it will make my injuries heal faster. Dr. Karp was very accomodating with his time because he understood that I needed to get back to training as soon as possible.
