Each day, the floors shine, the machines hum, and the knowledgeable staff greets you as family--assuming you are still talking to your family. :-) You can tell the owner runs his business with great pride. Everything works, everything's spotless, and you always know exactly what you're signing up for--including the owner's famously clear cancellation policy. This gym is proof that "small town" doesn't mean "small effort." The facility is safe, comfortable, and blissfully free of that flex-in-the-mirror energy you find in other gyms. And it is open 24/7 with staff hours in the morning and evening. The equipment works great, the staff is genuinely friendly, and the owner's attention to detail borders on heroic. If gyms were hotels, this one would earn five stars and leave a mint on your yoga mat. Clean, convenient, and welcoming--it's the only place in town where breaking a sweat feels downright civilized.

Unauthorized Billing After Cancellation -- Extremely Frustrating Experience…read more My son left for college, so we canceled his membership with the manager and everything was fully settled. When he visited over the summer, I asked if he could use the gym as a guest for the weekend since I still had a membership. The manager agreed and told us he'd need to sign a waiver and could use his old fob because he no longer had an active membership. He never actually went in to use it. However, not long after that, Anytime Fitness Granby appears to have restarted bi-weekly billing on his canceled membership without our authorization. These charges eventually added up to almost $600, despite no renewal being signed and no notice being sent. Trying to reach corporate was even worse. Their automated phone system won't let you speak to a live agent unless you enter very specific information -- and even then, it kept rejecting it. I had to enter the same information four or five times before the system finally transferred me. This has been one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I've ever dealt with. Families and students deserve honest account handling -- not unauthorized charges and endless runaround.

Tried to make an inquiry about pricing, and the absolute flagrant lack of care and coordination in…read morethe timeliness and effectiveness of their response(s) left such a bad taste in my mouth that it is highly unlikely that I'll take them up on their offer to tour the facility that they harangued at me in spite of giving an answer to the question I had apparently asked in a language that was completely foreign to the two available representatives, one of which, was Jeff, the presumptive franchise owner. Far be it from me to expect a quality of service that's unfair, but one with a functional logical capacity could make a cogent argument that the owner of a franchise of gyms should be able to professionally answer a prospective customer with an affirmative or negative statement when asked if their location offers group pricing for a party of 2-3 of the same company, instead of the frankly slim variety of options shown on the website, which I would digress to say I find pretty outrageously costly for a facility without a pool or sauna. Mind you, this interaction began on behalf of entering my personal contact information into the 'custom pricing' tab of the very same website in hopes of speaking to a competent representative and gauging whether or not a scouting visit, which I openly expressed to my representative that I had already planned to make on my own accord on the soonest day I could make the trip, was worth the time out of my day. God forbid I make that decision on such an arbitrary whim as their flexibility across services offered in lieu of them offering to appoint a time in the nearest business days to show me around the place in a likely rehearsed fashion. What's even worse than the vacuum devoid of professionalism that is that complete and utter waste of time that I spent researching membership at this location and venting my unmitigated frustration in this review is that, it would've only taken a difference of $10 a month per member on the 12 month installment plan if I was truly able to subscribe to a group price to have immediately swayed me to choose this gym. Alternatively, it only would've taken a simple 'no' to have prevented me from making this review. I guess we all can't have our way, and the customer service I experienced looking into anytime fitness has made it evident that if you believe you're entitled to your way, you are not welcome in their facility.

My Aunt is 84 years old, a lifelong East Granby resident on a fixed income, with a recently broken…read morehip and dementia. Recently I started helping with her finances, and discovered a recurring $11 charge from Planet Fitness going back as far as I could find records. We went to the gym, cancelled the membership, and discovered that she hadn't been in the location since at at least 2015, and possibly longer. I asked if there was a chance the location could possibly offer a partial refund, maybe $300 to cover the last two years, and I was referred to the managers Kyle and Kristin. To his credit, the assistant night manager (whose name I unfortunately have forgotten) was extremely empathetic, and said he hoped we were able to get some consideration. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. When I spoke to Kyle he said there is no chance of any refund, and that there was no point in my talking to or emailing anyone else. He refused to provide any email address or contact info for anyone specific, only the general email for the location. He said there was nothing at all that could be done. I get it - this is a subscription based service, and buyer beware. And also, maybe a company with a different value set would make a call when they see a person hasn't used the membership for a year? Maybe at five years? Ten? I guess not. I'm sure the reminder notice to pay would go out promptly if the account closed after a member passes away. And the sad coda is that my Aunt talked about what a fun time she had when the location first opened, saying it was a big deal in East Granby and it was exciting to see her little town getting so sophisticated as to have a "health club". I have no idea if she really experienced that, or if it was her imagination, but either way - the way they treated her in the end fell far short of that pleasant memory.

terrible service. its my fault for ever signing up to a planet fitness since I've heard bad things…read moreabout it. they charged me 3 times for an annual fee there was a bunch of hidden fees I got charged for that wear not ever shown to me. then when I tried canceling guess what another cancelation fee I ended up spending over 300 dollars for using this gym for 2 months which is marketed as 25 dollars a month. This is just a scummy way to run a business basically a scam please if you see a flyer or a promotion never try out this gym you'll just end up paying a bunch of hidden fees that you aren't aware of.
